Why do the Rockets keep this useless, sorry excuse for a 3 in there rotation. At least Rudy finally put his worthless butt on the bench. Now all the Rockets need to do is find a way to get rid of this guy. He brings absolutely nothing to the Basketball table. He can't:

    1. Shoot from the outside (with consistancy)
    2. Drive to the basket
    3. Bang in the paint
    4. Play Defense
    5. Rebound
    6. Pass
    7. Jump
    8. Block Shots
    9. Dribble

Other than those shortcoming "The Wiz" is a great player.

Welcome to the board, I don't think you will find many that disagree with you right now.

    Well VMax,

With that great endorsement of the Wiz, how in the world do you get rid of him? The answer is..... you probably can't at this point. So we are stuck with him, to just cut him, would cost us a lot, and just add to the players we are paying, that don't play for us. The best bet, is to hope he starts playing great, and somebody bites on him...

Walt is a shooter and he has been hesitating lately on shots he usually takes which is a bad sign for him or for any shooter. Walt just needs his confidence say after a big game and he will come along. IMO he is player that survives on confidence, when he is confident he can do anything.

We all know that Walt has been sucking as of late (thank God that Rudy has been benching his ass). The Wiz does nothing more than shoot....kind of like Bullard....and we knew this when we got him. I really cant bare watching him play either because he looks like he is loafing it constantly. Hell he probably takes naps while he is riding the pine.

Wizard reminds me of Kenny Smith a lot. Kenny would constantly clank 3pointers for weeks at a time, contributing nothing else, then would occasionally come up with a big game and all would be forgiven. It also helped that, on a team with quiet leaders (Dream, Thorpe, Drexler), Smith was always the mouthpiece in the locker room and the local media loved him for it. And, of course, that shot in game one against the Magic washed away all sin.
Anyway, just like Sam was stuck behind Kenny, I think that the Wizard eats into Shandon's minutes/shots and keeps Langhi off the floor all together.
This is a contract year for Shandon and I think that the coaching staff should leave him out on the floor, to see what he can do. After signing for the exception to come here, I think he's owed that opportunity.
And I don't know if Langhi will shoot any better than Walt, but his size might make him a better rebounder and defender. He's worth a long look too.
Unfortunatley, veterans with fat contracts must be given every opportunity to justify those contracts - that's just how the NBA seems to work. You see the same thing with Larry Johnson in NY, Laettner in Dallas, and, of course, our friend Mr. Pippen. Walt may just be our cross to bear right now. It's not like we're going to the finals this year anyway...

I told you guys last year that we needed to trash that mother, but noooobody agreed . "fromobile! he played great the last three weeks of the season, just because that part of the season was garbage scrub time doesn't mean he won't play that well next year!!" HE IS A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!!

It must be some psychological problem because earlier in his career, Wiz could do just about everything on that list.

It's great to see that Rudy has put "the Wiz" in the starting lineup. I know its early in the game, but I'm predicting about 7 point and one board (that falls directly into his hands.) GO WIZ!!!!!

So far this evening Walt Williams has played 12 minutes too many.

I never thought I'd say this, but there's a little part of me that hopes Wiz gets injured (not a big one, just one that'll keep him out 3-4 games). I just want Langhi to get some damn minutes! So sue me. [IMG]

Walt has been sucking of late, but to say he's useless is a bit too much of an exxageration. When he is playing well, he shoots very well, he can drive, pass, and handle the ball. I won't say he's a great defender even then, but his shortcoming in this area is greatly exxagerated. And from what I saw when he clocked Shawn Bradley last year, he throws some of the best punches the NBA has seen in quite a few years. I'm not saying we should only base our opinion of his play on what he did at the end of last season. Only that we know his low-point and his high-point and we should consider both in his evaluation. I think he is a lot like Kenny Smith, and may even play himself right out of the NBA like Kenny did. But since we're stuck with him until after the next season, why not just not worry about him? He'll either continue to suck and ride the bench or he'll break out again and have everyone lauding how well he shoots and passes and drives.

I am pleased that he is now on the bench and I would leave the line-up the way it is. Hopefully, Anderson lives up to expectations
If I was the coach I would not stop there. He needs to do the following:

    1. Play Thomas as backup 3. He is a good enough outside shooter and can take his man in the post. Defensively, I do not think it will be anymore of a liability than Williams was. Doing that would also clear up the 4 and 5 where there is or is going to be a bit of a logjam. Any extra time at the 3 should go to Langhi

    2. Make William play backup 2 if there is time, as a partner to Cat in the backcourt or depending on matchups.

    3. Let Rodgers back up Mo.; and

    4. Let Cato and Collier share duties backing up Dream.

I would reduce playing time for Bullard as well.

Trade him for Hersey HAwkins!!!! The dollars match and we could use another guard on the roster. His deal is up at the end of the year, Walt has another year after this. Can we con Charlotte into taking him?

I think most posters here would agree to trade Walt for CWebb. [IMG]
