I like the way he makes sure his injuries are completely healed before attempting to play.

Ace, the man used to say it pretty frequently. I know I heard him say it several times. He was a good backup, but evidently not the brightest. Still had a better chance than Cato's prediction.

Lol!

HeyP, since this is not your thread, I'm going to ask, what the hell are Mobley dishes?? You can buy dishes with Mobley's face on them or something? What's that got to do with basketball? Why would people want to throw dishes at Cato? I thought this was supposed to be a thread where Cato got some love.

He provides a big body in the middle. When he catches the ball, he is quite able to stuff it viciously.

hehe.

that was the best Cato-loving thread.

I love Supermac's comment: "I contribute to the team in ways that don't show up in the box score."

You have to EARN respect. He has had a FEW exciting moments...a few productive ones. But has he actually had much playing time? The bottom line is, we're going to have a hard time finding a young Hakeem-like player. Someone is going to have to step up. CAN Cato accept this challenge?

Charles said he WAS on the slim-slow diet. I hear for the new year he's got a couple resolutions. But, Charles, if you happen to get bored with your everyday-workouts, I could make it much, much more interesting!

I like Cato because:

1. He doesn't listen to his mamma
2. He writes children books
3. He's tall

The best things about Cato are his fly martial arts moves and how he always shows up to help the Green Hornet just in the nick of time.

1. He can block shots
2. He can rebound(well he obviously had to improve somewhat to make that prediction
3. He can score
4. He is athletic and has great potential(unfortunatle so far that's all.

I think the question is, DOES Cato reserve hometown respect?

It seems Kelvin Cato can't get any love from the home-town fans, so I've opened this thread for those of you who like Cato to tell us why you do. And for those ignoramuses who may disagree, don't post here because we like Cato and if you don't, you're wrong.

I like Cato because:

1. He's tall
2. He can dunk
3. He never fouls...lousy officials
4. Did I mention he was tall?

Sound off Rockets' fans, tell me why you love Cato. If you don't, don't post here.

1. he's a great target for Mobley dishes!
2. his presence on the court makes Mobley a better scorer.
3. he deflects some of the Mobley bashing
4. he still has trade value so we can get a real center to match with Mobley.

how's that for positives!

1. It's already been said... but he's 7' tall.
2. His BYC value is only 2.5 mill... and the Bulls could easily absorb that salary.
3. Once upon a time, he got a triple double! A triple double w/ blocks and boards! He's a center! He's 7' tall!
4. Best of all, his "high ankle sprain" sufficiently postponed any lousy play that could scare off potential suitors!

there's no truth to the rumor that 8 of the blocks were against Shawn Kemp

I can't believe noone has yet mentioned this: Cato is going to lead the league in rebounding!

Not since Carl Herrera proclaimed that he would make the all-star team has a Rocket made such a bold prediction.
