I hope for the competitiveness of the league and the Rockest that Melo signs with the Bulls.

Houston can offer Melo more money cap wise, and also the tax factor. Melo and LaLa doesnt want there son growing up in a city like Chicago. Melo can't even wear his head band there (thanks to Thibs). Does Melo really want to be worn down by a coach like him? I doubt it. Houston has to be the obvious choice. Right?

According to Woj, Lowry is contemplating an offer from Houston. If he were to accept doesn't this take us out of the running for Melo?

Melo will take a slight paycut and will possibly be more inclined to play in Houston with Lowry as PG... that's my thought

We probably told him we'd offer him if Melo/LeBron doesn't come. So he's probably deciding whether to wait for us or to go ahead and agree with whomever else.

I don't see PJ making it any easier, not unless the Bulls coughed up a hell of an asset, but the Rockets can sign Carmelo for an almost max and still keep their core.

Depends a lot on order. Say Lowry agrees. We move a young asset or something then sign him outright. We then get Melo on board and SnT with NYK to get Melo. We'd give Lin + Parsons in the process (or something close to that). Wham bam thank you ma'am. This assumes Parsons is willing to go to NYK, but I have a feeling he would...

Or we could sign Lowry and then SnT Parsons to Minny for KLove, who def want him if the Thompson deal falls through. Parsons has to agree to Minny though, which I am NOT as sure about.

Either way, we could end up with Lowry/Harden/Melo/TJones/Dwight starting 5 or Lowry/Harden/who cares/KLove/Dwight as starting 5.

NY will not want to take Boozer in a SnT. He's going to be amnestied, why would they take on his full salary? All Chicago can dangle is Mirotic, Butler, and a Sacramento pick. Can Chicago amnesty Boozer, then combine their unguaranteed contracts and cap space in a SnT for Melo? That way, the Knicks wouldn't have to take on so much salary.

Uhhh what is more telling is that having your "superstar" show up for 20 minutes to show up at a meeting to Anthony is "huge". It speaks more about your "superstar" having Howard Hughesitis.

In fairness, Rose is so broken even getting out of bed for him is "huge". It must have taken tons of effort to wheel him out to meet with Melo.

Wow... the Chicago media does not even consider the Rockets as a possibility. KC Johnson is saying how the Bulls offer more than Houston on every single point.

Anthony may sign with Chicago, but talk about myopic views.

Amnestying Boozer is not a for sure 100% thing either. Given the history of the Bulls and its owner, I doubt Reinsdorf wants to pay Boozer to sit on his ass (or play for another team). Hence, the wishful thinking that the Knicks would be willing to do a S&T. As for why NY would? It could get Jimmy Butler back or a couple of 1st rounders who knows? As for why NY would NOT do it? Phil Jackson just wants to screw Chicago.

Don't forget the relationship between PJ and the Bulls. Just like McHale did Celtics a big favor by sending KG to Boston in 2008 :)

Phil is not boys with the Bulls like McHale is with the Celtics.
