THIS. Billy King is a major reason why I'm a Rockets fan when I should be a Sixers fan. If New Jersey had any sense, Kidd would be their GM. I don't care how inexperienced he is, there's no way he's worse than Billy King.
That's a great philosophy, "We don't care if you are worth a damn as long as you are better than the worthless GM we have now. Continue to suck...just suck less!"
I've never understood how Billy King has a job anymore. And media people talk about him like he's "respected."

Soooo after one year on the job Jason Kidd demanded that his boss get fired and that he gets that job, then when he gets laughed at by the owner, he runs to his friend and gets him to fire multiple people so he can take all their jobs? I guess no one's ever accused the drunk who beats his wife and cheats to try to win of being classy, but Kidd continues to impress.
Damn, the Russian doesn't mess around. Jason Kidd bust into his office making all kinds of demands after one decent season as a head coach, and instead of listening to him, and telling him to be patient, he ships him off to the Siberia of the NBA. Don't let the дверь hit you on the way out, Jason!
Let's not put Larry Drew's job on Kidd. Eden and Lasry just bought the team. It's common practice for new owners to clean house and I think that they would have fired Drew and/or Hammond with or without Kidd. The timing of releasing the information was obviously handled poorly by all sides involved, however let's not pretend that Larry Drew was going to stay on the job. We also shouldn't forget that Larry Drew threw Mike Woodson under the bus in Atlanta when he was Woodson's assistant so you could argue that there's some unpaid karma in play as well.
It's pretty rare for a coach to keep his job past the initial firing point, past the draft and then get fired on the eve of free agency. Drew was not going to get fired until the season started and he failed at least. This is on Kidd. Larry Drew got fired because Jason Kidd went and asked his friend to fire a coach and hire him instead.
It pays to have rich friends. Ppl are calling this a dick move by Kidd but the bucks new owner who is good friends with Kidd wanted Kidd as his coach. The nets should have seen something like this coming after the Lawrence Frank fiasco. And besides the new owner didn't hire Larry Drew and has no allegiance to him. The bucks have a vastly underrated roster and money to spend in free agency, so I'm excited to see how successful they can be with Kidd. The only thing bad about this is that now it puts us at an even larger disability to getting Lionel Hollins on this coaching staff. He's the front runner for the nets job
