I think JVG had lost some negotiating power which he has now regained with the Wizards on the backburner. I still think the Rox will get their man.
relax, Van Gundy isn't going to coach the wizards, he's not stupid. They have no talent at all... he is using them as negotiating leverage. Don't panic just because you hear something... Yao Ming and Steve Francis or Jerry Stackhouse and Kwame Brown. Relax guys
Actually, I am going to puke right now. What happened, seems Rox job is becoming least attrative one right now!!!! I cannot believe there is someone consider Wizards' job over Rox's. Unbelievable!!!!
Sounds to me like JVG is starting to play games in order to up his price. Darnit, I want a coach who wants to coach this team and who believes he can do the job with this bunch!! Dagnabbit, I want a coach who isn't in this for the paycheck!! Get Dunleavy hired. He wants to be here and he is a fine coach. My list if JVG is gone: 1 Dunleavy 2 Rick Carlisle 3 Bill Fitch 4 Alex Hannam 5 Del Harris 6 Heypartner 7 Alex English 8 The lady at the Wataburger stand in Compaq Center 9 Les' Dog 10 The Rocket Power Dancer with the biggest 'uns And if none of those people want to coach, I will do it for free!!! PS - I will hire assistants from the BBS if anyone is interested.
This is pathetic. All these articles that people are posting. It's just misleading. I'm just going to wait from the AP, ESPN, or Clutch w/ the final word on our new coach.
Gee, I've never heard of any coach who had those qualifications...except for maybe the guy Les just fired!
Good point. Congrats Atlanta. Larry Brown quitting the sixers started a pretty bad chain reaction. Dunleavy porbably would have got like $3 million/year about 2 weeks ago. I hope you're right, but if they give more control maybe he'll reconsider. If he's also wanting more of a metropolitan city then D.C. would have the edge too. Despite both those points, the Wizards don't seem to have a bright future and it would be pretty crazy for him to sign with them.
My list: 1. Rick Carlisle 1a. Mike Dunleavy's dog 1b. Mike Dunleavy's George Foreman Grill 1c. Mike Dunleavy's lazyboy recliner 1d. Mike Dunleavy's pleather waterbed 1e. Mike Dunleavy's OP shorts 1f. Mike Dunleavy's parachute pants 1g. Mike Dunleavy's Jerry Springer Tapes 1h. Mike Dunleavy Jr. 2. Gene Shue 999. Mike Dunleavy
I'll settle for being the Rockets VP of Dog Development to make sure Les's dog or any coach's dog doesn't bite a Rocket player...again.
I would love my new job!! Then I can give out free tickets to all my friends and have front row seats every game! Lovely! I like my job description.
Youre hired. You have inspired me to construct a specialty staff of 8-10 assistants (like Don Nelson): Assistant Coach in charge of making sure Yao knows that he is perfect: Yetti Assistant Coach in charge of telling Moochie not to dribble too much: Riet Assistant Coach in charge of making sure all the assistants know what is in each other's CD player: Manny (just poking fun at you because you love talking about the topic) Assistant Coach in charge of making sure that Cuttino is not traded: Smeggy Smeg Assistant Coach in charge of pessimism: A-Train Assistant Coach in charge of not letting the players get to up or down: SLA ("Hey guys, we are a good team. But not great. But we might win the championship. But we might not. Hey it can happen!!) Assistant Coach in charge of telling all the players the the owner is the "Anti-Christ": The Truth Assistant Coach in charge of salary cap calculations: Gater Assistant Coach in charge of having the players sign petitions to get a teamate traded: Rockets R Us Thats all I can think of for now ..................
Bottom line: Washington is closer then Houston. Washington is offering about 8-9 million a year for a combined manager & GM and if money talks then the Rockets loose. THEY BETTER DAMN WELL be expecting the worse, and get rid of this coc**y attitude that everybody wants their job. If JVG leaves, then that is 3 strikes on their ego. I say we heavily start calling Rick Carlise NOW, for a backup plan. Dunleave is nice for a passive coach, but one would have to think that he would have 2nd thoughts after the Rockets choice of JVG.
