I give Jeff V one day to make a decision. This is the best job out there right now. If the Rockets did offer him the job. And brought him to Houston to see the town. Now he wants to think it over. I say give him a day then if he hasn't given a answer say stick it. There are still good coaches out there. It is so funny how ppl think Jeff is the man. Where were all of you when Rudy got the job. Nobody can tell me honestly they said yes he the man for the job. He was a assiant coach and scout. No prior head coaching jobs. But look what he did as a coach. There are plenty of good coaches in college and other assiant coaches in the NBA that could make it. Look at B Scott and Larry Bird how they did as coaches without prior Head coaching jobs. Again I say where were all the negative talk about Rudy when he was just hired. Don't worry if it's not JVG. I am sure the Rockets will find a match that fits the team. My only worry is they will go high profile instead of a good coach. Just to fill up the new arena. :p

It must be that most of you with negative replies. Were too young when Rudy was selected as coach or you know nothing about basketball. Players when champship as the case in 94 and 95. Rudy let the players do what they did best. Inside outside game. The best coach doesn't mean a champship. if you think JVG is the missing piece to a champship then you get off the bong.:p

Dude, there is nothing wrong with your post, probably doesn't need its own thread, but I feel the same way, they are treating Van Gundy like he's Red Auerbach.

Yes you have to have players to win championships, but you cannot do it without a coach. Do you honestly believe that players alone win championships and not coaches? If so maybe you dont know much about basketball. Take a look at the Lakers and their 3 rings lately. They didn't do crap until Phil Jackson came in. Same team, different coach took them to the ring. Rudy did not let the players do what they do best, he taught them to do it.

He had Hakeem Olajuwon in the prime if his career, life was not that difficult. Hell, you could have had a winning record as a coach if you were the head coach at that time.
