Why are you still married? or Why are you still in this relationship?

It's not because she is the most amazing woman I have ever met.

It isn't because she is beautiful and sexy.

It certainly isn't because she puts up with all my flaws and frequent lameness.

It isn't because she's the mother of my child.

It isn't even because I love her so much I couldn't possibly imagine living life without her (honestly -- I refuse to even entertain the thought, it is too dreadful).

It's because I made a promise. I entered into a covenant, and as a man I intend to keep that covenant for as long as my heart still beats. I am forever committed to this woman, no matter what it costs me.

 

Cause if and when you are lucky enough to find that someone special...someone that after 20 years still makes you smile by her mere presence, someone that makes you just feel secure, someone that you know you can spend the rest of your life with. Why would you do anything otherwise?

I was dumb enough to lose someone that special in my life and its the biggest mistake of my life.

 

Don't tell her this. She'll get pissed.

 

In the last 5 days, my wife has procured for me autographed memorabilia from James Harden, Jose Altuve, Jason Castro and George Springer. And that doesn't even make the top 50 of reasons why I'm in my relationship.
