    Good point
    Rockets meet him before.
I think asik for Charlotte's pick (9) has legs
    or for Boston's pick (6)

So if the Rockets draft Smart, he will be used in a trade for Love. We can then use money on building the bench with more shooters.

I wouldn't be so hard on this idea of not having a big three. I mean the Spurs don't have a big three. Miami was the only team with a "Big 3" and Wade and Bosh are not as good.

We have two stars and now we need excellent role players and specialist. Thats why we have Daniels and he will be a regular for us. We need a stretch 4 and Ilyasova will give us that. Or Bosh. I think the Big 3 things is getting overrated. It didn't work for Miami or OKC (if you consider Ibaka that).

Maybe the best thing is to find ways to add defensive players. Chicago wants Melo? Takd Taj and Dunleavy once we trade away Asik and Lin. Maybe add Deng.

I meant for this year. Miami worked because they had Lebron. He's the best. Its not working for others.

The spurs were unbeatable in the finals.

Is this to say you think a Big 3 is necessary to win a trophy? I just feel more and more clutch fans are thinking that this is a prerequisite to a title and if we don't get a 3rd superstar, we're done. I would like to have one but don't think that its needed.

Do the names Pierce, Garnett and Allen ring a bell?

I think that Morey has made the point before that the superstar "max" players are the best deal salary cap-wise because they cannot demand their true market value.

The best deals would be the ones whose true value - actual pay is the largest. Lebron is probably #1 in that regard.

So, I disagree that Houston shouldn't try to go after another star, since those are the best ROI.

What you have to watch out for is max guys who are max true value, or worse yet, guys that are overpaid at max, i.e. Joe Johnson.

Yes, that is very strange. I think he just wants people to know in advance that Melo, Love and LBJ aren't interested in us at all.

That or he's just annoyed by those people suggesting we avoid a superstar and just try to pad our bench.
