It really depends on how great of a player you think Lebron James is, and then factor in the Spurs having beaten [down] , LBJ, in 2 out of three series (and should have won all three). Conversation for the top 4 - 6 spots wouldn't be too far fetched for me, because that is how highly I think of Lebron as a player.
I can't put them in the top 10 when i feel that this past season's Rockets team could have beaten them in a 7 game series...
They beat the two time defending champs and the 2nd best team in the Western Conf. They don't get enough credit because there's no one dominant player(s) that contribute to their overall dominance. At least top ten.
That's absurd. I love my Rockets but the way Harden stands around on defense? And McHale's cluelessness?
As they just proved, the greatest collection of talent doesn't make the best team. By that logic then Miami should be one of the greatest teams of all time. Clearly the Spurs are a better TEAM than them, but the Heat have a greater collection of talent.

I hate the idea of comparing teams from different generations but the way the Spurs played I'm confident they would at least take any team in history to 7 games.
Since Kublai khan was not known as a great warrior and he had gout i am going with bruce lee. Make it Genghis khan and i think the battle will have a different outcome. Spurs might be top 10 but I am not sure. In my life time there are already a couple of teams who i think are better. Let them first get back to back titles than we will talk.
Every championship team has a will to win and bought from several failed attempts like haven't won a title in 7 years, lol.
The spurs were the same team as last year. The only difference was the Heat outside of Lebron seemed disinterested. The were satisfied with two rings and 4 straight final appearances.
You guys think if LeBron didn't cramp up in game 1, and beaten the Spurs to take 2-0 lead going back to Miami, would the Spurs still have won the Championship? I think Miami lost the series the moment LeBron froze and didn't run back down the court because his leg cramped up. Miami had a decent lead up to that point, but nobody stepped up, least of all, Wade. LeBron probably thought he could have the same outcome in Cleveland and make 10mil more a year...
What? Thats wrong on both accounts imo, the heat didn't look disinterested...they looked pretty damn frustrated. Also, this Spurs team was a lot better too. Much better Kiwi, add Diaw, add Mills, add Belineli, and add a gameplan they formulated the entire year to beat the heat.
No, collecting talents don't always win. Two of Miami's Big 3 disappeared. Look at the Lakers and the Celtics in the 80s. They both had their own Big 3s: Magic-Kareem-Worthy Bird-McHale-Parish Those guys never disappeared in big games like that. The Heat made a mistake by thinking that they could just flip a switch and shut down the Spurs when needed. Well, they couldn't because this Spurs team was resilient and they did not get intimidated. If the Heat were more mentally prepared in Games 3 and 4, they wouldn't have been that bad. That's the difference between the old school guys back then and these entitled brats nowadays.
