Larry was in such a hurry

I have read the reports that Larry Brown was not offered the Rox job and the ones where he received an offer, but one too inadequate to accept.

LB's representative should have been able to sort through all that and either get an offer or get the offer upped. That's normal stuff for an agent.

I believe Detroit's situation should have been appealing to Brown. Nugs', too. Perhaps even the Clips, based on all reports about his relationship with Sterling.

Of course the Rox position should have been 'job one'.

So, why did Larry not tarry? Why did he rush to judgment?

In the Rox case, what else was there that was an impediment? Was it the city? The owner? Or perhaps unresolved issues with Rudy from the Olympics? The LB/Rudy T relationship keeps making me wonder.

So, why did Larry Brown make all haste? What do you think?

I think it is partly because he does not want to leave the eastern confrence. The expectations for the rockets are very high for next year, and if the rockets don't make the playoffs or win 50 games next year the coach will have hell to pay. With detroit he has a winning team who knows they will make the playoffs, but he will have pressure to make the finals. Both have pressure but i think the Houston job puts a little more on with the new arena and second year Yao. So he takes what job he thinks will allow him to succeed. For him it is taking on the weaker teams in the eastern confrence.

And as far as the nuggets job being a good one. One of my good friends plays for the nuggets and therefore they are my second favorite team, but denver seems to be making it a habbit of killing coaches carrers.

So, no 'hidden' reasons? I am just not so sure.

As for Nugs -- with their cap room, draft situation, location they are a potential playoff team next year, too! Who is your friend?

Chris Andersen. Unfortunately he does not get a lot of playing time, but he makes the most of what he gets. And he ends up on sportscenter a lot because of his dunks. I just see too many big men one has to go. If they can trade get some decent guard play
they might have a chance in a couple of years to become a playoff team.

They'll be real good next season -- if they don't blow this off season!

    CA has some game.

My friend Hakeem Olajuwon said that Brown probably won't be a good coach for the Rockets because he doesn't believe in throwing it down to the big man. Dream said Brown will probably use Yao like he did Rik Smits.
