I just don't understand this argument, should Lebron have lost in a earlier round? That would have been better than losing in the finals, right?

He is averaging 27 pts on 60% shooting. Maybe he needs to start jacking up more shots at some point. Would you rather have james being less efficient or Dwade throwing up bricks.

this is all on wade and bosh -- especially wade neither guy has shown up at all in the finals. bosh has his moments in the first quarter then never seems to shoot again.

just put it this way this is my top 5 list of how players have played in this finals

    1.lebron
    2.duncan
    3.parker
    4.kawhi
    5.diaw

#6 can be a toss up between Danny Green and Wade or Bosh -- and this isn't even counting Ginobili yet.

Spurs' talent across the board has been better even without the 'star power' names and more importantly have played better too.

Hell Patty Mills had more points than Wade or Bosh last night -- and he scored more last night than Chalmers has combined the entire series.

LeBron has not had the same sort of consistent help from his teammates this entire series especially last night. He was at one point 7-7 (until last second 3 in the 3rd) and 19 points in the third when his teammates were 1-8 for 2 points. thats just unacceptable from everyone else from the heat

Their is nothing wrong with him losing in the finals. His a great player, one of the best ever and being in 5 and having won 2 rings that entailed 2 finals MVP in 11 seasons speaks about how great he is.

It's just some ppl get too far ahead of themselves and put him as GOAT. That's when things then doesn't hold up when put under a microscope.
You see, if his fans want to claim him as GOAT...you don't get a free pass just because his Lebron...he has to have a better resume than the current GOAT in the modern era.

i do think he does get treated a bit harshly since I guess the media, spectators and the league has judged him to the standard of Michael Jordan.

Yeah, the Heat's supporting cast really disappeared and Spoelstra should take some of the blame. The team hasn't evolved anything complex on offense over the past 4 years. If you cant find a way to get Bosh involved in the post you're a terrible offensive coach.

These are all of Miami's plays on offense -

    1. Lebron creates for someone
    2. Lebron creates for himself
    3. Wade creates for himself
    4. Wade creates for Lebron

    That's it.

LeBron was the only person on the heat with over 20 pts. He had 28 and 8 off of 10/17 shooting , so how was this a choke again??

I don't consider it a "choke" the the Spurs are quite simply, the best TEAM on the floor.

Talent only gets you so far. Execution is what ultimately wins games.

I don't think it was a choke job, but the final numbers definitely don't tell the whole story. This game was decided in the first half, during which Lebron appeared to be completely disengaged, something that has happened far too often in Finals games.

LOL How about 5 finals appearances in 11 years vs 6 finals appearances in 15 years.

The 6 for 6 narrative has to be the dumbest in sports. Making it to the finals is accomplishment in itself.

MJ is the GOAT but lets not act like he didn't have his share of failures as well. By your logic it will be better to lose prior to the finals than to lose in the finals, thats just stupid.

Failure is part of the journey, the thing about it is that everybody wants to judge a guys legacy based on moments instead of the whole journey. Lebron is just crossing the halfway point in his career and Kobe is a great but I dont even see where he fits in the argument.

I think the logic lies in actually winning it all over coming in second. Not that hard to understand. For example, it isn't AS impressive to come in second 8/12 times as it is to actually winning it all 6/12.

    Excellent post.

Blaming Lebron in this year's finals would be like blaming Iverson when his otherwise-pathetic Sixers team made it to the 2001 finals against a much more balanced Lakers team. That went five games.

(Actually, Lebron has been much, much better than Iverson was in those finals; Iverson at least also had a spry Deke giving him 16 and 12 every game.)

This is true. Also having watched Jordan in the 90s, you just know if Jordan was in the situation as LBJ in game 4 (backs on the wall), he would have gone for 30+ attempts, made 40+ points and wrecked havoc mentally on Kawhi, demanded more from the team mates and wrecked havoc on the defensive end and just not allow the opponent to beat you down like how the Spurs did.

With Lebron, his great...you would expect him to take over for at least a quarter....but just can't see him winning it on his own without Wade or Bosh having good games also on the big stage.

Lebron has choked because he built this team. He has vets playing for the min. just to get a ring. The average fan likes to watch teams play competitively. We are are tired of the spoiled, rich, lazy prima donnas going the easy way out.

It has become obvious that LeBron needs to shoot more, him taking 40 shots and shooting 45% is still better for the Heat than Lebron taking 15 shots at 60% while everyone else shoots at below 40%

Beautiful post...I see the same thing and been saying this for past 3 years lol. You have Chris Bosh in the high post but turns into a spot up jump shooter (role player) because of the way Lebron and wade plays(wade has learned to play without the ball better past 2 years). Both Lebron and Wade are ball dominant players.

So does Lebron need Kevin Durant and Dwight Howard for his team to be fair? Heat have arguably the most talented team in the NBA. Why does Lebron always get a pass?

What do you not understand? When in the finals you must win to be the greatest. You have to nitpick if comparing him to MJ.
