NJ defense is better than San Antonio one ? [IMG]

And by the way, David Robinson was an Olympian backthen, right ( three times indeed !- and i'm not even an American ) ? :D

The Nets are very similar to the Suns in more ways than one BUT BETTER. They're smarter, deeper, have prior Finals experience and are a better defensive club and IMO have a better coach than Phoenix plus they're firing on all cylindars. I hate to compare the Nets to the Suns but it was inevidible.

Jkidd- Will dominate T. Parker just like Marbury did.

Kittles- plays the role of Penny Hardaway... very comparable to each other.

Jefferson- Once again another player that can be compared to
Shawn Marion. Hopefully Jefferson can get over his struggles and not choke like Marion did.

Kenyon Martin- A better (as of right now) more experienced version of Amare Stoudemire.

Jason Collins/Dikembe Mutumbo- In my opinion this position is the X factor. If Collins and or Mutumbo can shut down Robinson and provide some on the offensive end of the court it would be huge.

Once again I must say I hate comparing one team to another because each series is different but I just had to do it and I think the Nets will pull it off.

The only way the Nets can win is trying what these two guys did...

I'd be surprised if the series went 6 games. The Nets are in for a trouncing.

kittles comparable with Hardaway???? in what way, Kittles can shoot, hardaway can post up. Maybe Kittles is more like Joe Johnson, but defenitly not Hardaway, have you seen both players play this year?

Jefferson like marion?? again in what way? the only comparismend is that They both can dunk like hell. But Marion is so much better, it is like compairing griffin and rasheed wallace, they both can shoot and rebound, but there is no comparismend.
we will see who will win. But i can't imaging the nets winning. If the nets win the Spurs are losers. IMHO there is no way the best of the west can lose

Mutombo is the big question. If duncan goes off the Nets will have to make the move. If Mutomobo can play Duncan one on one you have completely thrown off the whole Spurs offense. It will be interesting to see what the Nets decide to do. I'm not making any bets until I see how the first game goes. It's really an interesting matchup on paper.

Lots of Nets supporters out there...I guess I could picture the Spurs choking the finals after a full season...they are pretty tired right now. This isn't the same as a 50 game strike season...;) :p

If somehow K-Mart steps his game up and neutralizes Duncan or takes him out of the series (through good play) can the Spurs still win? That is a hypothetical question, but I don't think the Spurs can win unless Duncan puts up his normal numbers at the very least.

    Closest to my sentiment.

I don't understand this logic at all. You expect the Nets to win 2 games but don't think by any fluke they could get 2 more?

I would expect "no chance" to be followed by 4-0, or 4-1 with a pity loss at the most.

You've also thrown off the whole Nets offense. Right from B. Scott's mouth.

The Nets can definitely pull it off, especially if the Spurs refuse to close them out like they did vs. Dallas.

The key for the Nets is getting something out of their half-court offense on a consistent basis.

We all know that Duncan is going to get his, & his teammates are going to play off of him. But its SA's defense that can be particularly tough, especially in the half court. And that just so happens to be the aspect of the game that the Nets are weakest at, half court offense.

The Nets should be able to control the glass & run, but they'll be S.O.L. if the Spurs make it a half court game. And since the Finals usually is a half court slugfest...

    Spurs in 6.

Yes, and if K. Willis is put man to man on J. Kidd, and shuts him down, the Spurs will win...(just hypothetical).

C'Mon, put the pipe down!! Shaq couldn't hold Duncan 1 on 1 in these playoffs; Now Martin can!??!!! The following power forwards in the West would be all-stars in the East:

Duncan, Garnett, Nowitski, Webber, Stoudamire, Malone, Wallace, Gasol

The folliwing power forwards in the East would be All-Stars in the West:

EXACTLY!! Martin will be stopped by Robinson for much of the game - leaving Duncan out of foul trouble and fresh for dominating on the offensive end. New Jersey must either double or triple Duncan AND use Martin on him (Martin simply cannot slow him solo at all) or Tim will shoot in the 60% range and just go ape on the Nets - otherwise its wide open jumper time for the youn'uns - which means some cold nights, but enough warm and hot ones to take the series easily. Jefferson will flat disappear being guarded by Bowen. Kidd is a great point guard; but he ain't gonna torch nobody with 40-50 points (a-la Marbury); he needs other players to score; there just aren't going to be enough who can for the Nets to win.

First of all i'm not putting my pipe down, second if a magic genie grants K. Martin a wish and he asks for Duncan to have say a 12 point 8 rebound finals average (reg. season 23-13) --could the Spurs win *if* that magically happened...or even an 18-11 performance like game 6 against the Dirkless Mavs. S. Jackson is the only Spur besides Kerr who really stepped up to finish off that series. Duncan flat out vanished, and MVP's should not vanish no matter how the defense plays them in a championship game.

Another tirade on Duncan's MVP skills is unnecessary, I know he is very good.

Martin is the best PF in the East, regardless of what the stupid ass fans vote (Antoine Walker is NOT a good player, he is above average at best). StoudEmire and Gasol are not better than Martin. Don't look at numbers and then "weight" them according to the Conference they play in. That's just ridiculous. Obviously the East isn't as good as the West. It doesn't mean raw PFs and no defense PFs are better than Martin...

Whatever happens this may be the best series in a long time (I hope), it would be nice to see a 7 game series. Will it happen? Probably not but it would be nice--When was the last 7 game finals series? hmmmmm. :D

This was for those talking about Joumana.

Martin may be the best defensive PF in the East, but Jermaine O'Neal is better in every other way. Martin can in no way carry a team just yet, although neither can Jermaine. But more of Indiana's wins are attributed to ONeal than Nets victory's, which come as a result fo Jason Kidd's playmaking. Martin is young and needs to work to on creating offense rather than feeding off of Kidd.

Joumana is pretty, but she has some serious Take Fits. I don't think she will help the Nets win a championship unless she promises to sleep with the team if they win.
