I like Leonard a lot, but I'm not sold that he's the so called future face of the Spurs. He strikes me as an Andre Iguodala or Luol Deng type of player, very good but not great.
so what? On a team where your No.1 guy is a goofball and your supposed No.1 guy goes to strip clubs, scores a lot in regular season games and not enough in the playoffs, does his best No D impression and is not vocal at all.
I guess we won't see that until Duncan and Ginobili are retired. And they could play another 5 years.
His only 22. His improving every year, has had fantastic experience in the post season, can guard the current best player in the league, can shoot the 3's, have enormous hands for his height/size and his very humble/shy but very competitive on the court. His fundamentals (i.e. footwork, handles etc..) and his IQ has improved immensely in the past 3 years. We don't know his ceiling, but his trajectory is looking good.
Paul George by a mile. Why are we comparing an All NBA team and all star with a male model and a 3 and D player. A better comparison will be Parsons, Hayward as well as Batum. And no, its not because they are white. But their skill set.
Popovich... simply put, he's the greatest coach (perhaps any sport) ever. He's the best motivator, runs the best system (both offensively and defensively), and gets the most out of his players. George is best talent among the 3, but he'd be even better if he played under Popovich.
big hands is overrated. kobe has small hands. parker has small hands. he's on his way to be the next Trevor Ariza.
George is by far the best Leonard get overrated on this board. He turns it on the the playoffs every year and we always have this discussion but outside of his defense, he isn't all that special during the regular season. Parsons was better than Leonard during the season, but neither are in George's league
Knee Jerk much? Leonard was lifeless the first two games. He's a better defender than Parsons, but he also doesn't have to work near as hard on offense.
Is this a parsons critizing/dishing thread? Both of them are better by miles... Its not fair to compare those 2 with parsons. Parsons is a very very poor version of PG. I lean toward leonard though, better fit for rockets IMO. George is the better overall player.
I would choose the players in the exact order of the poll with some slight changes. 1. George 2. Leonard 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Parsons
Parsons play no D and benefits from the attention Howard and Harden draw. He is insanely over-rated amongst Rockets fans. Not to mention he has a big mouth and doesn't know what to say or how to back it up. "Rockets are the best team in the NBA" - we then go on a losing streak "I am 100% the best SF in this series" - then has his clock cleaned by Batum George and KAwhi are on different tiers. Vastly superior players to Parsons. George Kawhi About 5 other SF's Parsons
Parsons isn't as talented as the others but it's his mentality and loyalty that has me sold. I don't know what was up with George this year but he was insane last year.
Lol this board is subject to heavy behavioural biases. Please look up and read recency bias before pasting ur knee jerk crap. Overall, parsons have shown that he has done more and is a better overall player than kwahi. Please, this is a career game of leonard u juz whitnised. And george is a mile better than those two.
Put George on Spurs and he'd be sick. It's george > Leonard > parsons Parsons plays no defense while the other two play elite defense.
