I hope you realize that this kind of logic is pretty dumb. It's like saying that it's OK for LOFs to dislike the Rockets organization because some Rockets fans are douches. This, of course, is silly. If as a Rockets fan, you can't root for Lin, who's a nice guy and plays his heart out every game, then that's down to your own personal feelings towards him. Don't use a player's fanbase as an excuse to disike or not support one of your own players.

I don't think I've ever hated any player, in any sport, because of their (apparent lack of) skills..... (With maybe the exception of defense. I don't hate Steve Nash because of his defense, but I do think his inability to play defense made him vastly overrated as a player. But I also find his antics to be annoying, yet the media seems to overlook it.) I've wanted to acquire better players because of that, but never hated players merely due to insufficient skills or talent. Now I've hated GMs for overrating a player's skills, or coaches for mis-using them..... The only reasons I've hated players is because they failed to put forth the effort, behaved like a jerk, or became a distraction on the team. I might occasionally be disappointed in Jeremy Lin over a bad decision or defensive lapse, but there is nothing about his effort or behavior that comes close to making me want to to dislike him. And while I find some of his fans annoying, I don't think he should ever be faulted for that. As far as I'm concerned Lin and LOFs should be treated as totally separate entities. That said, I stated this last season, Lin is just an awful fit for the Rockets team (mainly due to "Moreyball"). I do think he could really blossom on the right team. I just hope the fans here don't hate him even more, if that were to happen.

I can't stand Marc Lamont Hill. And he was way off about Linsanity. It wasn't that people were raving about him because they were expecting him to be that good for the rest of his career... They were raving about him because he had the best start in NBA history. No player started their NBA career like Jeremy Lin. It's like when Floyd Mayweather said people are only raving about Linsanity because Lin is Asian and black players do what he did all the time. Ummm... no Floyd, people were raving about Linsanity because this undrafted kid from Harvard is lighting up the NBA in his first time on the court. And yes, him being Asian added to it. But the main story was that he came out of nowhere. Marc Lamont Hill, like Mayweather, sounded bitter that an Asian kid was getting all of this respect for doing what black players do regularly. But they are wrong. No player of any color started their NBA career undrafted and lit up the league like Lin. Nobody had ever done that.
Some of you guys are crazy. Let's keep him because he's a nice guy? Please. If we don't get a star, continuing to waste 7mil on cap space still isn't an option. He's had two season with the Rockets. Two full seasons since Linsanity. Whatever is sent with Lin or Asik, can be duplicated. Late first rounders can be replaced by buying early second round picks. Outside of Harden and Howard, everybody else is replaceable. You can't be a Rocket fan and want Lin back. There's no argument to be made in favor of keeping him. We're chasing titles and he's an obstacle. It's simple logic at this point.

They were raving because he's Asian. And LOF's still think he can be something that he's no. So, of course, they thought it back then as well. LOF's have been relentless from the jump. Had you guys not built him up, he wouldn't be falling so hard right now. You guys did this to him with your crazy expectations. That's why the Rockets signed him as well. Les wanted the Asian market back and threw loyal Rocket fans under the bus. Was trying to make extra money in a down year, then we land stars, and his greed catches up with them. It was so obvious, that Les came out and said we're going to have cap space next season, right after we got bounced in the first round. He said that because he was embarrassed. Remember, nobody else even offered Lin a contract. Les not only outbid himself, but he made a mistake, that even the Knicks were smart enough to avoid. Really think about that.
