I really enjoyed this film. Great action and some unexpected, but enjoyable humor. I'm a big Tom Cruise fan myself, so i already knew it would be good like most of his work. Some people are never going to give Tom Cruise films a chance because they can't get past his personal life. I say F*** that noise! He's a damn good actor and probably a better person than most of his haters. 8/10
I read The Verge's review and this summed it up best.... http://www.theverge.com/2014/6/3/5742930/edge-of-tomorrow-review Judging from everybody is saying the reason they don't want to see it is because of Cruise, one of his recent best is being overlooked, and judging by the box office, that is right on point.
If the new trend is that franchises are bigger than movie stars, then that's okay w/ me. This movie was good, but far from great. I'm okay with this Groundhog Day/ Butterfly Effect/ Source Code/ Matrix 3/ Aliens combo above average movie being a dud at the box office.
For was still in his 30's when raiders was made. This dude is 51. Well the reason is people don't like Tom Cruise much anymore and he is the center of the movies marketing campaign. The main thing the trailers drive home is "Tom Cruise is in this movie and he fights people"
Loved the movie, didn't really get the end. I know what happened but just don't get why he went back to that point in time. The messy ending makes more sense after reading the studio rewrote the ending several times and started filming without knowing the ending.
The ending is pretty self explanatory: Spoiler <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/VMeWQXE38dA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
This movie was frustrating. I felt the same feelings, I used to feel when playing a video game that I couldn't beat. I think the past memories of frustration were brought back upon me and that is what I felt with that movie. My gf can't stand Tom Cruise yet she enjoyed the movie. 6/10 for bringing back memories of my video game failures.
Tom Cruise is awesome, imo. Also liked Oblivion and the MI's. And he was the only good thing in Tropic Thunder.
Spoiler That particular moment in time was the last time he wasn't awake, aside from the time he was tased and knocked out (which was the starting point for all the other times he was killed and woke up.) I think that's the most logical explanation, even though it's a stretch.
really really good considering i was sure i was going to hate it. tom cruise is ****ing nuts but his movies are almost always awesome
Loved it. Definitely if you're on the fence about this movie go see it. The storyline is sound, Cruise is amazing and funny, and Blunt is damn good. I can't even understand why I even hesitated to see it.
It's funny because I thought I was the only one not so interested because of Cruise's involvement, I really liked the movie though. I still feel like Cruise was whatever and I think I would have enjoyed it more with another actor there. I really do like Blunt though and she's good in this. The movie isn't without flaws, but overall I think it's worth watching.
I haven't seen the movie yet, but I'm assuming it's better with Cruise than if it starred Will Smith.
Blunt's little moan every time she did that abdominal stretch at the training site was great fanservice for the male audience, lol. Which is like, 95% of the moviegoers.

Spoiler Seemed to me, the logical way for them to approach the aliens was to continually kill the alphas and get the blood on more and more soldiers. Other than that, I liked it.
Spoiler Actually, having it on more than one would probably be a total nightmare.. And technically, it was the Omega that reset the day, not the Alphas, so really, the power of the aliens to reset the day still rested within one entity. If you start multiplying the possibilities by having multiple humans who can do the same thing, there's no telling what would end up happening..
