    I saw that.

He said they were going to interview Dunleavy too.

Aldridge also recently said that Larry Brown would fit best in Houston and is probably where he is going.....but.....that was one day before Detroit fired Carlisle.

    Carlisle as Clippers coach.

    NOOOO!

Just to add to the Carlisle business the news update on 610 claimed that Carlisle was the favorite for the Clippers and Wizards positions. They also confirmed Aldridge's JVG meeting.

I hope Drewdog is right. :(

The Clippers could be playoff contenders if they sign Carlisle and are able to re-tain their squad. But it's highly unlikely they'll pay for a coach AND players in the same season. So nevermind.

My God, if only that IDIOT knew how much talent he has there.

    Sane,

How much talent do they have there? The reason I ask is because they can't even get into the Playoffs let alone be a pretender at the end of the season trying to make a late run to get the 8th spot. I'm not sure about the so called talent in Clipper land.

I think the starting line-up of:

    Olowokandi
    Brand
    Odom
    Maggette
    Miller

Is probably one of the best in the league.

The reason they're so bad is because they never have a stable coach, are never allowed to mature and develop chemistry, have no veterans to look upto, and are only there on rookie contracts.

You're not going to give 100% if you negotiate with your boss about a raise, and he tells you you're not getting it and that you'll be let go at the end of your contract. You just can't, and won't.

The Clippers are just a storage for young talent. That's all they are.

Hmmm, I thought that Carlisle is Portland's first choice if Mo Cheeks bolts to Philly. DJ, Dennis Johnson, will likely stay on as the coach of the Clippers. He's paid his dues and is a fine coach.

I must confess that I do not understand why so many people here like Van Gundy. He's a terrific defensive coach but his offense blows chunks. His Knicks were dreadful to watch and I'm just not sold on him. Still, I'm willing to take a wait and see attitude if he's named the head coach.

    Sane,

I guess we will just agree to disagree.

This whole idea of Clippers being a talented team was perpetuated by the media 2 years ago when the Clippers almost made the playoffs when they were supposed to be bottom feeders. Also the addition of Brand helped fuel this fallacy. Then the Clippers added Miller further adding to the idea that the Clippers were a talented young team who should make the playoffs.

But if you look at the line up, I'm not impressed. Let break it down.

Olowokandi - worthless. This guy doesn't even like basketball. I'm still wondering if this guy has a heart. His numbers are pathetic

Brand - Best of the bunch. Decent power forward who knows how to post up and get rebounds. A little undersize but comes to work every night. Would like to have him on our team.

Odom - ????? many question marks. Where is the talent? Where is the domination? This guy is 6 ft 10 playing small forward, shouldn't he be dominating? It's all hype here folks.

Maggett - this guy has some seriously explosive moves. His first step is as fast as anyone in the league. His point per shot production isn't bad either. I must admit with better coaching, this guy could do some serious damage.

Miller - this guy is not a tough point guard. You look at players like Starburry, steve nash, steve francis, Mike Bibby, Bobby Jackson, Tony Parker, even a Derek Fisher, who play with more intensity and urgency than this guy. I'm not sold on Millers low key style.

So what do we have, Brand and Maggett who are the only two quality players I think Clippers have. Maggett is just as raw as can be and Brand, well he is doing his part and is more fit as a defensive stopper and a third option on offense.

With this line up, Clippers will be lottery bound for many many years.

WTF? Why interview Dunleavy too? I thought the Rockets were just going to bring in one guy back for an interview.

Nobody nose anything about anything. All those guys on SportsCenter that specialize in a specific sport (David Aldridge-NBA, that nerdy white dude that covers the NFL and Gammons for MLB always report bull-ish rumors. Nobody nose until it's announced.

I'll tell you who else doesn't know crap and that's the Rockets hierarchy. When it comes down to a choice between JVG and JVG, we have no choice. I bet there are some people out there missing Rudy already. I know I do. JVG is what Beavis and Butthead would call a wuss. Just wait and see. Talk about screwing yourself royally, we (as the Rockets) are on the brink of doing it again. Oh boy.

    WHOA.
    Listen.....
    The Freakin Clippers.
Andre Miller. He's one of the best point guards...behind Jason Kidd and Gary Payton and maybe Baron Davis. He is at the same level with Steve Francis and Stephon Marbury and Steve Nash.
Quentin Richardson....he's as good as Jason Richardson. He's just always injured. Golly! They also have Corey Maggette...who isn't great now...but very athletic and in the future....can be like Ron Artest or Lamar Odom or Bonzi Well.s
Lamar Odom....he's like point forward.....as good as Cuttino Mobley and Michael Finley and Brent Barry. ODOM is probably the 2nd best small forward in the game now. BUT I'm talking about him as he was LAST SEASOn. This season...he was very disappointing.
Elton Brand. He's a good shotblocker, rebounder, and scorer. He's undersized. But anyways...he's one of the top 10 power forwards in the NBA behind Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, Dirk Nowitzki, and Chris Webber. HMM. He's TOP 5.
Michael Olowokandi.....also a tall guy. He's a good player. He is one of the best centers in the NBA.
Their bench is filled with first round picks and youth.
They had one of the most talented teams. Their team should have at least MADE THE PLAYOFFS. That's sad. Realistically....they could have made it to the Finals. They were loaded with young talent. But now.......all of their good players are free agents and are gone. They screwed up! They could have won the championship...maybe. They could have been just as good as the Kings or Lakers or Spurs or Mavericks. They just didn't play well together.

Rockets could have done good too...

Anyways. ESPN always makes up stuff. JAMES POSEY GETS INTO A FIGHT WITH RON ARTEST AT THE ALL STAR GAME! Well...ESPN is the only major sports network. So...too bad! :(

Man...they even have the SPELLING BEE and MATH COUNTS competitions on ESPN now...Poker too...pool...

Well rumors I guess. Or just opinions.

Before this season....he was one of the top elite point guards.

He was averaging about 10 assists per game with Cleveland.

I don't know what happened to him.....
