I have a copy of this and it is faithful to the game, but unfortunately the AI is crap. I set the Axis AI as the hardest level, made Britain and America the dumbest, and I played as Russia. All Britain did was build submarines (which the Germans would send a couple of planes to sink each turn) that never moved. America build transports but they sat on the East Coast. It took a while, but I still managed to win with those odds. If the AI was better, it would have been great single player. Definitely worth trying out though, especially if you can get some friends to get it and play.
That game was cool!...10 years ago! Maybe I should start playing again. Strategy! WORLD DOMINATION! There's a computer game too now.
Really, really elite gamers own both a Turbo Grafx, the Turbo Express, and a 3D0. Thankfully I never got a CD-I.
I used to play Risk all the time when I was young. It seemed like at the end of every game everyone was mad at each other. I think I remember a few times when someone would smash their fist into the board and little pieces of colored wood would go flying everywhere. I would bet that a few people have been murdered playing Risk.
Damn, I'd have to run a window emulator on my mac to play and if the AI is weak its probably not worth it.
I am something like 200-3 all time when it comes to monopoly. Trivial Pursuit is also a favorite of mine.
I have never played Risk, but these 2 neighbors of mine played it and even used my apartment to play some of their game. I don't think that game ended too well as one of my neighbors told me that a man from the Ukraine smashed their board.
