Dwight getting less votes than DeAndre Jordan is pretty ridiculous. Kinda shows how much narrative plays in.

Unfortunately Dwight has to cover all the mistakes of Harden and Parsons and that really is impossible considering how many times guys blow past those two. If we can just get better on the perimeter, I think Dwight has a legit chance to win another Defensive Player of the Year award.

Lebron didn't deserve it this year. He coasted on defense like crazy. The Heat actually statistically were better with him on the bench defensively than on.

    Harden with votes?

    David Lee?

    CP3 first team?

These voters really don't watch games.

His man to man defense slipped a notch but he was probably the best strong safety in the nba.

Dwight got snuffed. Dragging a bottom third defense to a top third defense doesn't even make you an All-NBA defender? Also the Grizzlies are just straight up disrespected. Never mind Allen and Marc Gasol, Conley should have been voted in.

    Beverley took Conley's spot.

Dwight has way more defensive impact than Asik, but our defense didn't go from bottom 3rd to top 3rd. It went from a DefRtg of 103.5(#16) to a DefRtg of 103.1(#12). Opponent FG% went from #17 to #7, opponent 3P% from #22 to #9, but our DRB% dropped from #2 to #20 and total opponent offensive rebounds went from #5 to #28.

Obviously a lower opponent FG% means more chances for opponent offensive rebounds, but we're not getting defensive rebounds @ the same rate we did the previous season. So in many ways the shot blocking/rim protection that Dwight gave us was offset by the poor defensive rebounding.

Yup, we saw this all year long. Dwight would come over, help change and/or block a shot and save the day, and no one would "help the helper" and crash the boards.

Why is that a lol? Do you think he got too many or too few votes?
