Just Last Week, JVG has been the top Coaching Candidate in the Entire League. No one give a Rat As* about Silas or Larry Brown. Then Comes along Larry Brown. Now don't give me wrong. OLE Larry is a good coach, but he's flaky... Not good with his players and don't know how to scout good talent. I think the rockets did a wonderful job to this point. The Rockets used Larry Brown to draw interest away from JVG. To me if Larry Brown wasn't available and we have gotten JVG everybody here would be Jumping up for Joy! Last year Dunleavy was the Premier coach out there, and the Rockets have him in the bag. So for the Rockets to have a chance to get one out of the 2 out of 3.... coaches I think that's darn good; and these are the first two guys they Went After before anyone knew about Larry Freaking Brown Being Available. That's all....

That's because you put Larry Brown in the same class as JVG and Dunleavy. I personally, never would have and never will jump and down if we get JVG. JVG just isn't that kind of caoch and neither is Dunleavy. Might they turn the Rockets around? Maybe. But maybe doesn't make me want to jump up and down.

I somewhat agree with you. I was really excited at the prospect of hiring Jeff Van Gundy when this coaching carousel started. Van Gundy has been very highly regarded and I thought he'd be a great coach for the Rockets. He was the top coaching candidate in the entire NBA.

Then Larry Brown throws his name into the mix and everyone bumps him up as the coach to get. I'm also in this group. Larry Brown is a HOF coach, not many guys are in that category. Now that he's gone we're down to Van Gundy and Dunleavy. It feels like it's a step down, but before Brown through his name into the ring Van Gundy was the coach that all the teams wanted. Dunleavy on the other hand...

So you were betting your life Brown would turn the Rockets around?

BTW, did you jump up and down when they got rid of Rudy?

No, because that was contingent on getting a coach like Brown, Riley, or Jackson. If they weren't interested at going after something like that, I was for keeping Rudy on as coach as I've said like 50 times on these boards in the last couple of days.
