She found out he was a spy, selling secrets to the people that butchered her family.....The fact that she didn't kill him instantly was mercy.
Spoiler Interestingly, that was a very typical ending of what was called a 'Revenger's Tragedy', which was popular in Spain and other parts of Europe in previous centuries. The bottom line - nothing good ever comes of revenge, once you set on that path, you are inevitably doomed. Still, that sucked.
Amazing that people just can't stop themselves from spoiling ****. Ah well. Serves me right for coming to the thread.
I've been over her for a long time now. Her scenes are so boring. That whole staring off into the distance thing she does when she talks is so damn annoying.
It was certainly a dumb move tactically. Jorah is a talented fighter, talented adviser, has connections in Westeros, etc. Yeah, he had started out spying on her, but she was well aware he was now in love with her, so it's not like he posed her any threat. All she did was get rid of an asset for no good reason. The smarter move would have been to forgive him and keep him around. Three other things: 1. Wow, that ending... goriest thing ever on television? 2. What the hell was the point of Tyrion's beetle story? Is this something where he's going to have an epiphany before the end of the season and tell us what that meant? 3. I don't like how they made Littlefinger look like a moron. (I'm spoiling the rest of this last because it has to do with a change in how Sansa/Littlefinger played out from the books... events I discuss have all already happened). Spoiler Kind of a big change with Littlefinger/Sansa. In the book Littlefinger knew full well that the lords of the Vale would question him closely, and he already had a good story and had coached Sansa about it. In the show he is once again shown as uncharacteristically being a moron (like when he goaded Cersei in season 2 for no reason, also not in the books) -- apparently he didn't have a good story ready for the lords, or at the very least hadn't coached Sansa at all. I can understand that they're trying to make Sansa a stronger character by having her save the guy on her own initiative, but can they do it in ways that don't make Littlefinger look dumb? I mean, he carried out that whole plot to kill Joffrey without getting caught, and then he can't figure out that the lords of the Vale would probably be curious as to why their ruler died under suspicious circumstances a few days after he married her? C'mon guys, Littlefinger is supposed to be a master of intrigue, he ain't that stupid.
Let me divert from any intelligent discussion and ask -- the baby with Gilly, I thought that baby was taken to the White Walkers? I suck at watching this show.
Loved the episode and how faithful they remained to they fight. I to am confused as to Tyrion's almost 5 minute long speech on the beetle genocide at the hands of his cousin and if it has any future meaning. Ironically enough the biggest piece of foreshadowing I caught tonight was via LittleFinger with two simple sentences during his brief conversation with Robin about people dying... (I am just spoilering the particular line of dialogue. I am not mentioning or discussing the event it references for those who are curious.) Spoiler "They die in their beds. They die squatting over their chamber pots".
OMG that ending...I thought that Oberyn was going to win but suffer a brutal injury, but this? My god. Why does GoT always have to take the best characters away from us??
Well, Tyrion did tell him to wear a helmet... I was too at first. About the 5:50 mark they explain it.
