Console Wars Thread! PS4 vs. Xbox One vs. Wii U Fight!

man i loved mario kart 64....and saw a vid of MK8 looked awesome...but man i don't know if i wanna throw down for a wii u just for that game

anyone have wii u? i haven't looked into at all but just a quick glance...it looked interesting. 2 screen type deal...HD...expandable storage. cheaper than PS4/XB1...but i have a decent enough computer i can get most titles for those on PC.

worth it?

 

Note that the green wheel will not be out until June 30th. I believe outside of the MK8 Wii U bundle this is the only way to get these in the US.

MK8 is very fun and very pretty. I wouldn't buy a Wii U for it but I guess that depends on how big into Mario Kart you are. If you want it because you want to play Nintendo games it's perfect. If you want it because you want a next gen console, I'd suggest you save up for a PS4 or X1.

 

i'm not too into brand loyalty per se...i have a 360 but havent touched it in years. as mentioned recently got a new comp which can handle gaming fairly well. so able to get BF4, TITANFALL and others on that.

i'm not sure how much i'd play a PS4 or XB1 over a wii u...but in terms of gaming performance and such its not really needed since my comp is prob better than PS4/XB1 anyhow.

on top of that i can dig nintendo games...mario kart...DK...always been a fan. if theres a smash brothers game for wii u i'll prob go buy it today. just fun games...something to pop in and play every once in awhile.

 

There are a lot of games on consoles that you won't be able to play on PC. See: Destiny.

Smash brothers will be out this fall. Sounds like you want a Wii U.

 

all the big boys are there though...

from the few i saw from PS4 i couldn't get that i'm interested off the top of my head are prob: MLB the show and killzone.

same for XB1...obviously there are some exclusives for each...but titanfall/watch dogs...combined with the ever growing steam game collection...more than enough.

appreciate the feedback though. glad to hear a smash bros is coming. i prob will grab one.

haha i wasn't really here to argue...was just trying to get some feedback about the wii u console from people who actually have experience with it, rather than just relying on online reviews.

The Titanfall hype died almost as fast as every Killzone's hype.

Have you played them both? Titanfall is a hell of a lot better than Killzone. I'd argue even comparing them is an insult. I returned KZ with the quickness; I know a lot of people who play Titanfall even daily. If TF was on PS4 it's all you'd hear about. Wait until TF2.

Wow sarcasm. I've never seen that on the internet. Your IQ must be off the charts homie. I don't know what I was thinking questioning your logic. You didn't answer the question by the way: have you played them both?

 

Mario kart 8 has been ok so far. The graphics are great, but the gameplay is roughly the same. All this time just to have 2 player 1080p 60hz split screen seems like a waste. I would have been fine with 720p if the game came out 6 months ago.

 

Haven't had a chance to play MK8 yet, but that's basically Nintendo's strategy the last 20 years. Put on a fresh coat of paint , maybe a new feature and call it a day. The reason why the majority of us buy them is because they release a sequel every few years vs the yearly installments of popular franchises.

You know what games are crap? Ones I haven't played. Every single one of them is crap. Now let me cheer for the large corporation that made the console I own. Yay!

 

Now that is out of the way, I'm pretty surprised at how many people are having a go at Watch Dogs. I got it on release and I'm really enjoying it.

The multiplayer aspect of the game I think will set the tone for a lot of games in the future. While it does have a few issues, the way people can come in and out of your game is well done most of the time and adds a whole new element to the game.

If youre reading a lot of negative stuff on the internet and its putting you off buying the game....just go and get it. I know PC users have had some issues that may be something to consider, but console users should just get the game. You'll enjoy it.

 

Different strokes. I've been told by three other people that they're regretting their purchase.

 

I just played MK8 at best buy. Looked amazing. I had to force myself to not buy the console and game right now. I just don't have the time. Plus I have a PS4 that's been collecting dust. I still need Second Son and Watchdogs for that.
