Reggae Cafe next to Sun and Ski Sports on Westheimer and Chimney Rockish? Many a Red Stipe and plates of jerk chicken when I was in HS
I think in high school my older brother went to some club called Power Tools. He only got a car so Dad wouldn't have to drive from Richmond to Baytown and back on the bi-weeklies, but by the time I was in high school Dad was in Cali and then Algeria, so no transport or night-life for me. I believe there was another place called Peppermint Palace we used to randomly pass, enough times that I made a drawing of it in class in like 2nd grade. Can't remember if there was a talk about that or not.
I think we've all now covered everything for the 20th time. Let's Lysol the decade and realize...we're ****ing old, man...but we OWNED the best two decades of Houston. These kids have no idea.
Gallagher's Italian Restaurant - My grandma and aunt went there for dinner one evening not knowing it had changed into the Gold Cup. The lady at the desk stopped them telling them they were under new ownership and suggested they to a different place. Grandma could not understand why and walked into the main room. My aunt said grandma looked like Fred Sanford having the big one.
