Anyone else think its a joke that after 4 seasons with no playoffs and a new arena that ticket prices are going up by 50%!!! I dont know about you guys but paying the $118 bucks for center court 5 rows up was a lil steep to start, but now its at like 180?!?!?! Thankfully my father picks up the tab, but I dont see a reason why the ticket increase is coming at a time when attendance is horrendous. Now I know I do not post a lot of messages, but I visit the site all the time and read almost every post so thought id start something up.

Well thats expected with all the success this team has had........wait.......no they havent. I dont pay to much to the ticket prices since at best I go to 2 games a year. If they are raising tickets that much thats ridicolous .I care more about whether or not NBA League pass will be increasing their prices

tickets are a complete joke. i make $10 an hour and love the rockets and basketball. but i can already afford to go to only 2 or 3 games a year. i will be watching from home every game next year.

Yeah, but they have more of the "affordable seating" available in the new arena

I'm with you. Who the -f- cares about a new arena. I'm there to see the Rockets. The Rockets organization has so far done NOTHING to improve their product, and how exactly does that justify an increase in ticket prices?

Hey as long as they keep us regular joe's out of the stadium with ticket prices catered to businesses, don't freaking complain that fans aren't in the seats and that the arena's too quiet.

You need to renovate your vovabulary there are better words to use rather than the street language.

Ticket price increases and paying for parking are two reason why me and my friend will probably not be able to afford season tickets this year. :(

Increasing prices after 6 horrendous years? I mean WTF!

And yeah I also dont care if there are more cheap tickets in the arena as well. Paying But 25-30 per tickets to sit in the nosebleed sections is just not worth it. Especially when you get zero discount for buying season tickets.

Yeah yeah I know someone other rich guy will probably buy the tickets if I dont get em, but I can gurantee he won't cheer 1/10th as much as I do during the game.

Its a conspiracy: NBA League Pass is paying for any tickets not sold in the new arena. They figure it will be a bargain with all the new subscribers they'll get.

Of course they raised ticket prices. Fans only gave them a check for $150 million for this arena. What do you think? That just because we paid for it we own it?

Cooperations will still buy enough tickets to keep the cash tills ringing and give them to their employees, most of which could give a sweet rats a$$ about the team. The new arena will be as quiet as the Summit, er Compaq center. The "coorperate crowd" will keep on arriving late, staying seated and sitting on their hands during the game, and leaving early. The beat goes on...

The NBA is funny. They price out the exact demographic that they market to.

I agree, but I would substitute the word "stupid" for "funny".

this happens to some team every year in every major american sport. NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB. Its the nature of the business. The prices increase as the corporations are willing to pay for the luxury boxes and prime seating. The high to mid income fans fill in the midrange seating and the cheap seats are there for the low income guys because they make the most noise and give the impression the fans are rabid for their team.

Right on, dude. It's all about the benjamins, baybee. To the NBA, tickets are for rich folk and merchandise is for poor folk.

I'm not naive enough to think the NBA should abandon its business model (it makes TONS of money), but it would be nice if REAL fans were able to go to a game occasionally. It's getting to the point where middle-class America can't afford tickets.
