Rockstar has a lot more experience than Ubisoft Montreal at making these types of open world games. GTA 3, GTA IV, GTA V, Red Dead Redemption, etc. Experience helps. That being said, I still feel like its a minuscule gap whether its Watch Dogs being better or GTA V being better. Its negligible.
I've never played GTAV so I can't comment on that. With that said, its the most fun next gen game for me so far. Not great, but still fun. for comparison, i thought infamous:ss was a 6/10.
Having both... I feel the same way. But this game just plays differently. Remind me of mafia II and sleeping dogs. Gtav had much better physics and controls, and imo just look better. I'm enjoying watch dogs to an extent. I probably rate it a 6.5/7 out if 10. I'm just hoping it doesn't get boring and repetitive like the first few assassin's Creed. The main character is pretty damn bland too.
Picking it up this afternoon, wouldn't have had a chance to play it earlier. I'd be seriously impressed if it's comparable to GTA V. That was arguably the Game of the Year last year.
For those having problems on PC... This is why PS4/Xbox One is sometimes worth the $... Just play the game without having to worry about upgrading hardware in order to get the maximum graphical gaming experience..... From what I've seen the game looks great on both consoles and run at a fairly smooth 30fps as well.... The fps is slightly better on The Xbox One but that's because of the resolution...... Rather play this on console than to upgrade my graphics card... Everything else on my PC is ready....
That's like saying, that's why I like to drive a Tercel. When I get a GTR I'm going to want to mod it etc to make it go fast. With a Tercel I know it can only go up to 60mph so I'm not going to fret over it. Well, if you wanted to dumb down the graphics to Xbox level, you can do that on the PC with no issues.
That's a terrible comparison... For the most part a GTR comes fast from factory and doesn't really need upgrading so its actually a better comparison with a PS4 or Xbox One.... The PC is a tuner, yeah we have all sorts of tuners out there making 600+ RWHP.... Honda's, Toyota's, Nissans, Mazda's, Chevy's but you know what? None of these high horse power cars are reliable and daily driven. They all require extreme attention and $$ in order to keep them running and making the power. Some people love this and that's okay but purchasing a BMW M3, Porsche Carrera 911 and or a GTR is more than enough for some. I have a pretty heavy rig that's easy worth 4X a PS4 and I'm not gonna bs myself thinking gaming wise magic is just going to happen every two years when that game comes out. Go ahead and play your games in ultra high resolution.... I promise you that Billy next door is going to enjoy it just as much with his Xbox360/PS3/Xbox One/PS4.....
I have a high end PC and a PS4...the graphics on a PS4 are definitely comparable. Anyone who says otherwise is ignorant or has an agenda. They're different experiences. There's plenty of times I want to sit in front of my computer and be right in front of the monitor for a FPS. On the other hand there's games like this where I want to chill out on a comfortable chair and play on a huge screen. Again...the graphics are comparable, I'm definitely a graphics w****. So comparing a next gen console to a Honda Tercel while comparing a PC to a GTR is definitely an agenda thing.
Is this game just GTA 5 with (slightly?) worse graphics and controls, but with hacking involved? Played GTA 5, haven't played WD - but it seems like WD would be more fun.
I haven't played GTA5 yet, and I think that's why I'm enjoying it so much. I find people who have played GTA5 don't like it quite as much. I'd say the hacking is worth the price of admission alone, but again I haven't played GTA5 yet. I can definitely see where the car physics for example are abysmal compared to GTA.
Really enjoying this game. Lots to do with helping with crimes, gang hideouts in which you capture the targets not kill them, different levels of enemy make it challenging, car racing and also the main story is interesting and keeping me on the edge. I love hacking into the camera's and using the environment to kill the enemies before I go into the areas. Driving is really stiff, but you get used to it. The gta driving was much better, but the hacking adds lots to the open world. I'm also a huge fan of having to hack the towers before being able to get infromation off the general public. I've unlocked 8/13 towers so will nearly have the whole map exposed. I'd give it an 8/10 so far. Huge fan of using the blackouts too.
Yeah, considering how alive they made the rest of the world... it's really disappointing watching my car go full speed into another car and that resulting in no damage.
I haven't been progressing the main story much so that might be my problem but I'm not seeing any more towers on my map. I've hack two or three but that's it.
I think I will be taking this game slow. I wish it was released in the winter when there wasn't much going on.
