If Morey gets rid of Asik. This team is going to be in for a rude awakening. No matter who we have manning the other positions.
The clear hate(or blatant misunderstanding of NBA cap rules) aside for Dwight and Harden, the answer is clearly Parsons. The wing positions in the NBA is rarest commodity in the NBA due to lack of depth. Beverley is awesome, but he's still quite replaceable if you look hard enough.
horrible thread or just worded wrong...all of them are VERY VERY tradeable.....but if i had to pick a untouchable, if there were any on that list, it would be PAT BEV. Cant lose someone with that much heart and defense leave... Before i clicked the thread, i thought Harden was going to be one of the names listed... he is TRUE UNTOUCHABLE on this team.
Are you really saying that a backup center is what will make or break the team, no matter who else is on the team?
Howard should be the only player the Rockets should keep. Everybody, including Harden, could be traded if the right deal comes.
all of thsoe players can be traded. rockets gotza z long way to go to be contenders. the only keepers should be dwighet and james. of the players in the poll, i wanna keep bverley and jones. if rockets wanna contend they need to make big trades. asik and parsons have to be the centerpieces for any trade talks, maybe jones too if the price is right. this roster, with a a few small changes wont get far in the playoffs
I voted Parsons. That isn't saying much though, as I do think he'd be.... touchable? in the right deal.
I think it's Beverley. Like Hayes in the past, no team is going to give you fair value considering the impact he makes. With Parsons you can get fair return, plus, his contract status probably makes him less valuable to us than he was a year ago.
I think Asik will be here to the deadline- simply because few Eastern teams want a competitive center that also have enticing pieces for us- and any team save the Kings or TWolves could wind us facing us in the playoffs.
Um.... last time I check, nobody on this board is making decisions on who is or who isn't untouchable. Maybe some of you guys think Harden should be traded, but its pretty obvious that the front office and ownership thinks the same as you. Harden isn't going anywhere folks so stop.
Beverley. Parsons is better but that kind of works against him in this instance. You can acquire a superstar with Chandler Parsons and sweeteners. No one's giving up a superstar for a Patrick Beverley centered deal. I see Beverley as one of those Chuck Hayes guys where his actual value is far larger than his trade value, and I don't think Morey is dumb enough to ever go "here, as a little sweetener to this deal, have this point guard to be your backup - who, oh yeah, happens to be the only player on our team with balls, and our only respectable perimeter defender." Maybe if the superstar we were acquiring was a PG - but even then I'm skeptical.
So harden is not part of the core? Carl ur the worst poster on this forum. Someone with as much basketball knowledge should know that a 24 yr old who is all nba two yrs in row plus top 5 in win shares would be considered part of the core. IMO he's more untouchable than Howard who's got 5 yrs on harden in age and nba career. By your logic the only player not tradable should be harden. Btw I don't think there's 5 teams other than San an, Miami and okc that wouldn't trade there top two players for our top 2. Don't let 6 games or carls bs fool u guys. Harden is a stud and trading him for anyone other than lebron or KD would set this franchise back 5 yrs easy.
They are all touchable. Who is the least touchable? I guess Parsons because he's the best of the bunch.
Out of this group, I'd say bev, as he's cheap and not a star. Parsons is playing above his pay-grade, and he's our best asset therefore highest trade chip when we want to upgrade positions.
So sick of the Harden thing from you. Harden is core. Harden will almost definitely be a Rocket for at least 4 more years so just accept that, and you'll have a much easier time on these boards.
I'd say none of the above, but Beverley is the closest thing to it. This is the prime time to move Parsons, and his skill set is really high demand around the league so he represents an upgrade that could bring us to the next level if we find a suitable trading partner. Beverley's value to this team is much more than stats and moving him wouldn't ever get us what he's worth to the Rockets.
