Aladdin's castle at greenspoint was ridiculously fun. I was in my baseball card collecting phase and they had that one baseball/pinball game that gave you baseball cards instead of tickets based on your hits/scores. That was my allowance eater. I remember Altered Beast and XMen too.

Food Lion still exists here in Houston.

There was something else too... Toy Palace? Toy Castle? Something like that... along with KB Toys.

I am surprised nobody mentioned Eckerds yet. Granted they were bought out by CVS.

May God have mercy on whoever's soul that still shops there.

Children's Place (not to be confused with the clothing store Children's Palace)? When it was Xmas they had an employee dressed up as Santa and you got to grab a gift out of his bag. I ended up getting a GI Joe.

I thought Electronic's Boutique became EB Games which is now GameStop in most places. I think Babbage's, EB Games, GameStop and FuncoLand are/were all owned by the same people.

I grew up in Deer Park, Tx. In one shopping strip we had a Gerland's (grocery), T G & Y (five and dime), and a Super X (drug store).

LOL, that's where we all used to park when cruising Center Street when it was named a top 5 cruising street in the country at the time. Cruising there, racing on X street, gooood times!

Restaurant: Athens Bar and Grill on the ship channel. Literally dancing on the tables and endless shots of ouzo.

Amusement: Kiddie Wonderland. Many of my kids' birthday parties there.

Grocery: Jamail's on Kirby. Central Market before its time.

Retail: Palace Boot Shop downtown. Bought my first pair of Luccese's there.

I've seen several folks mention Texas Tapes and Records in Pasadena. Greatest record store ever and best job I ever had. If you bought paraphernalia there between 1978-1980, chances are I sold it to you.

Anyone remember Kip's Big Boy? Montgomery Ward? Palm Center? King Center Drive In? Prince's hamburger next door?

    Sunnyside represent!
