How much money do you all think this guy will get? As much as i like Daniels, i think Meeks is a better fit for the Rockets. Unfortunately, playing on a bad team this past season should help Meeks secure a larger deal. Obviously this was a career game, but it's a good recent mix to watch, for those wondering about is game: <object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/IqmDVnl4R6o?hl=en_US&version=3"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/IqmDVnl4R6o?hl=en_US&version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
I'd take him here - I think Daniels is more of a point guard anyway. I'd love to be able to go to occasionally run a lineup of just three point shooters, Harden, and Howard. How good is Meeks at defense?
He's more proven than Daniels but not by enough for us to consider paying him, unless we intend on using Daniels in a trade. I think he ends up getting around $3 million. You can't go too crazy based on the year he had as one of the main scorers on a Dantoni team.
Jodie Meeks is such a limited, spot duty player. I guess he'd be OK on the Rockets if the price was low enough but some dumb team will PAY him because of 2-3 ridiculous games last season. Morey might bite on $2 million/year as filler after securing a bigger fish this offseason. If Jodie Meeks is a regular rotation guy, your team isn't good.
If, and thats a BIG if, Chicago has cap room they should go after him. He would be a great player in that system.
I'd sign him to a classic Morey team-option deal and flip him to a sucker at the deadline by convincing them he has Andrew Wiggins' upside since they look alike
He's definitely limited, but so are guys like Daniels, Casspi, hamilton, etc...that's the role he'd take and should be a better fit than those guys. I think Daniels may eventually be slightly more accurate from three, but Meeks is a better defender, a great FT shooter, more experienced, and can actually put the ball on the floor and draw contact.
My point about Meeks is made if you are comparing him to Daniels. Neither guy belongs in a good team's rotation.
A lot of guys don't and still manage to make it work. True three point shooters aren't alerts available. This team needs one or two, if they can hustle on D, even better.
