LOL at Wade and LeBron's response.
I've seen these collapses too many times for the Pacers.
They play well for three quarters then Miami goes on a mini run in the third and they just fall apart mentally.

They have a case in the fourth quarter. Miami got a tremendous amount of calls in their favor. However, that collapse in the third quarter was pathetic and the refs didn't cause that.

    <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Luis Scola: &quot;You can’t blame it on the refs when you lose by double digits.&quot;</p>&mdash; Tim Reynolds (@ByTimReynolds) <a href="https://twitter.com/ByTimReynolds/statuses/471143277799157761">May 27, 2014</a></blockquote>

Scola knows whats up. Paul George still has a lot to learn.

This dunk has nothing to do with the FT Line.

I do agree with Lebron too though. Scoring 20 points off 14 turnovers is decent, if the pacers would have locked down on turnovers they also would've had a chance to win.

If you wanna stop Miami you can't let them run and I feel like even though on paper it looks like a close game Indiana let Miami play their game the entire second half.

Paul George and the Indiana Pacers are finally understanding it... they just arent gonna beat the Heat as long as the big three are together. Forget trying to stop Lebron...how about trying to stop Bosh and Wade from going havoc inside the paint, getting offensive rebounds, and winning hustle plays.

The Heat have a great formula for success. They let Lebron carry them for a majority of time, and then ice games when the rest of the cavalry shows up. Did anyone other than pacertom expect a different result? Dont have a inside or outside game that can consistent put pressure on opposing defenses. The Miami Heat mentally own this team from top to bottom. Vogel cant surely believe that they even have a chance. This Indy team needs a major overhaul, and it starts by getting rid of Roy Hibbert.

The dominant Bulls of the 1990's had some legit competition in the East. The Spurs and Lakers faced tough challenges in the West. Can we say the same about the Heat? It makes me sick to see how the road for the Heat was paved for 5 straight finals appearances without a hiccup. They play in such a garbage conference that allows them to turn up whenever they want. I just feel that in order to truly understand how good this Heat bunch is, they have to play against better competition. And they cant get that in the East.

Pacers had their chance and should have won last year and the year before. This time they had little chance

The window for them has closed. They need some majors changes.

I think the claim of that article isn't that the NBA is rigged or even that Dan Crawford is a bad ref. It just shows that perhaps a certain reffing style benefits a certain team's playing style.

    LOL

The article shows, quite clearly, that there's only a 1.9% chance of that much of outcome disparity on that large of a sample size has arisen purely by chance.

If you want a rigged outcome in your favor and you are the Heat, the you want to see your buddy Danny Crawford winking at you on the court.

Really? Dan Crawford is copping flack now? He's probably the best ref in the nba.

If I was going to b**** about the reffing in game 4, it'd be that foul Stephenson got that was called by the far ref whilst the baseline ref (Crawford ironically) had it as a no call.

This just exposes how the Pacers are lacking maturity. They struggled through the playoffs against inferior teams, struggle with each other as teammates and on an individual basis, and now these recent comments from Stephenson and George.

I've lost the little respect I have had for Paul George this season. Just the things he says and do. I use to be a fan, but he's not all there. If asked what he would do if he won a billion dollars, this is what he says compared to the other Superstars of the league. Pretty much sums up where his head is at.

Paul George: "Of course I'm retiring. I'm going to try to own the Pacers and run [Pacers president] Larry [Bird] up out of his spot. Yeah man, I'm retiring for sure. That's a lot of money to sit on. Of course, I'm going to invest it right and make sure my money works for me, but I'm definitely leaving the game at that point and resting up early."

Chris Paul: "Me and my wife actually have joked about it, and even guys in our league talk about, 'If you were to win the lottery, what would you change?' A lot of people say that the first thing they'd do is quit their job. That's not what I would do. I love my job. I'm getting a chance to live my dream now. What I'd actually have happen is my family and people around me, a lot of their lives would change. I'd really get an opportunity to do some of the things in philanthropy that I've always wanted to do. I get to do a lot of different things now, but obviously I'd get to do a lot more."

    Chris Bosh
: "I'd spend it, give away some to charity and take care of the people I need to take care of. And then I'd go on the best vacation the world has ever seen. I would continue to play. I wouldn't have anything else to do. I love basketball. We all played this game since we were little and we did it for free. I'd continue to play this game for sure."

    Carmelo Anthony
: "I might still want to play just to be playing. I'm going to have the money. But to still be able to do what you do and still have fun doing what you do and still know you got a billion sitting in the bank, that would make life just that much easier."

What's the source for this? Have others answered this question? If you're a PG fan (and I am to some extent), this is certainly not what you like to hear. In a way he's saying "I'll exert just enough effort to get max contracts".

I'd have to hear him say that, sounds like something someone would say jokingly.

The Crawford stat is likely coincidence.

First, the article itself says that Miami has a lower FT differential with him than without him in those games. So what exactly is the method through which Crawford's refereeing helps Miami?

Maybe there is something going on, but neither the article nor anyone else has offered a theory, let alone evidence supporting the theory.

Second, the sample size is 2004 to 2014. We are talking many different formulations of Miami teams playing different styles. So unless Crawford is personally just favoring the city or favoring long time Heat players Wade and Haslem, I am not sure how exactly the style of referee and the style of play matchups really work.
