Or, put this way: if all member's contributions AVERAGE $19,972,84 (some giving more, some less) then we have the billion. As crazy as this proposal is, I actually think it could be pulled off. Unlikely, but possible.

Would we move the team to Houston and rename it the Clutchers?

I'm so in for 15k. Delay the sale until I start my new big oil job in the fall and I could pull off more ;)

On the other hand, only 7k posters have ever been online at the same time, so you've got a pretty big dormant % of total members. I'd say active members probably have to chip in about $60k each to compensate for others, and even then would be looking at about 15k people lol

The team is likely to sell for $2B or even more with the Lakers getting over a $3B cable deal from Time Warner. Anyone who buys the team for $2B will likely recoup their initial investment right away with a cable deal in the second largest media market in the country and the center of entertainment for the world.

Why don't you guys start smaller. Maybe the 50,000 posters on this site could all pitch in and try to first buy a small condo in LA first.

So...the game plan is to pool our money together and buy the team, but how are we paying the salaries after our initial investment?

Maybe we should start with a DLeague team.
