Interesting. I was wondering if this was all a bit of misdirection. "Plan A"? Carmelo (which is possible)? Certainly not LeBron? Bosh? Like larsv8 mentioned: Lowry/Millsap? Well, if Dwight wants more touches, Harden will have to dial back and distribute more, or management will, after all, have to get a real point guard.
so cyberx in your mind who do you think the rockets should chase? and who are they going after? besides love
I too advocate the 2-3 really good players for the bench and 4 (even though in my opinion Jones is still on the rise) instead of gutting half the roster for Love or Melo.
The starting lineup is a wash to me, maybe the first one is slightly better. But by giving up Asik, our bench is much weaker. Look at the trade from the value point of view. Harden is slightly better than Love. And Asik is MUCH more valuable than Martin. So it's a bad trade.
I hear a Drew Gooden of the bench is a possiblity, maybe Ariza. Also Evan Turner. Paul Pierce was an interesting choice that was brought up.
A lot of wing players mentioned (or I guess four if you go small?). Luol Deng Evan Turner Trevor Ariza Paul Pierce And they'll probably explore Carmelo, if/when he becomes available. (Obviously more expensive than those other guys.)
I wouldn't mind Ariza or Gooden. Was surprised at what quality minutes Gooden gave the Wiz late in the year, though he seemed to hit a little bit of a wall in the postseason (based just on my eye test, haven't looked at numbers).
None of them seem like vet min players, except maybe Gooden. Are these just MLE options if we were to hit a homerun trade? I couldn't see us clearing space just to sign average role players.
I can confirm 100% that LeBron is 1A. That doesn't mean we will land him but we are going to have to hope that the Pacers win that series and wait.
None of these sound like a "terrific free agent" to me! Paul Pierce isn't he like 40yrs old or something? Why would Less say terrific!... SMH ,,,,,,, ,,,,,,, ,,,,,,,
