warren buffet, the 2nd richest man in the US was talking recently about how bad the tax cuts were bc they only made the rich be able to make more money. its all in stocks so they never spend it anyway. he was talking with his secretary and they figured out that she had a higher tax rate than he did. the guys a billionaire, is helped by the way bush runs things and even HE admits its dumb.

its funny how republicans are so into the business aspects of govt, and the economy sucks right now.....

bush's wife is a teacher and yet even at my old high school, theyre laying off a bunch of teachers bc of budget cuts. that makes me so furious. how can the govt fund those anti drug ads? they basically say buying drugs supports terrorism and theres a link between lower quality education leading to drug use. so hmmm arent they basically lowering the quality of education, thereby increasing drug use and contradicting their ads. i guess whatever makes them look good on tv....

The same way it doesn't help to have a clown like W there now. Neither are that great, but Clinton is the lesser of two evils, IMO

I think property taxes are the major revenue stream for public education (is that state or local?). Federal spending on education is minimal.

As for the drug ads, yes they are stupid and a waste of money, but there was plenty spent on the drug war during the Clinton administration as well. They should cut all of that and just legalize drugs; then just have extremely harsh punishments for drug related crimes. I don't want to hear anyone whining that people need treatment not jail if the drugs are legalized but people are robbing and stealing to pay for them.

That is what presidential elections have been for years. Kind of like asking "would you prefer a finger smashed in a car door or a kick in the nads with a steel toe boot." Both options suck.

    "Kicked in the wedding tackle?"

    That's brilliant. I'm still laughing.
