Duncan is great, but he is really lucky to have been drafted to the Spurs organization and have Pops as a coach.
According to my stats, we are more efficient than the Spurs. They take too many bad shots. We can play like them only if we acquire Duncan because he can hit those bad shots.

I don't care what team that is... just watching those passes and plays gave me the feels. Just basketball at its best.
How times have changed. A few years back they were boring. The fad was to shoot 3 pointers, now look at this.
Always want to punch people that say the Spurs are boring and unwatchable. They are playing the best basketball of this decade, their ball movement is on all-time level and this is how Basketball is supposed to look. It's beautiful to watch how unselfish these guys are and always look for the best shot available. The ISO of other star-ridden teams is disgusting compared to this, every team should play more like the Spurs.
How the hell is this boring? And we beat them 4 times this regular season because popovich limits everyone's minutes. I don't think a single member of the team averaged more than 29 minutes per game this season until the playoffs. So if they were playing us like a playoff game, we would have seen a lot more of their big 3. But I'd much rather watch this than Blake Griffin on a 1 on 3 breakaway dunk or Durant going off for 20 in a quarter. Those things are fun to watch too, but this is old school basketball. Some Dr Naismith stuff.
It's a great video and the Spurs are certainly well coached and capable of incredible ball movement and passing. That being said, it's a highlight film and that isn't the way they play every possesion. There is plenty of iso ball too. Parker/Ginobili/Duncan either are, or were star players during their tenure with the Spurs, so I don't really see how the Spurs are examples of not needing 3 stars, and Duncan isn't just a star, but probably the best power forward of all time. Duncan may be fortunate to have been drafted by the Spurs and coached by Pop, but the Spurs probably win zero titles without him. The Spurs do an incredible job getting the most out of their role players, but they aren't all just role players who have brilliant ball movement every time down the court. There is plenty of individual talent in play too.
Man, Man... and people say they are too old. Yet, had 62 wins this season? Beat a tough Dallas team. Man handled the Portland team. Now on to the highly talked about OKC Thunder. I give it too them, great team. Amazing coach. Going to be a sad day when Duncan and Pop retire.
Heck no it will be a great day when they retire. I for one can't wait. I hope they don't win the Chip this year either.
Pops is a great coach, but he is really lucky to have coached Tim Duncan and the Spurs. Both are true.
we play way more iso than the spurs.... most of their baskets came from players making the extra(but not overpass) to the open man in the paint or open 3. Duncan don't post up as much as Dwight, but TD is more willing to give up the ball if he sees the double team, unlike DH.
