Well, the Disney/Pixar steam train rolls along. Every film has had a bigger opening weekend than the previous one, with Finding Nemo opening to $70 million this weekend...I bet Lucas is hitting his head now after selling the company all those years ago. Personally, my favorite one is Monsters, Inc. Finding Nemo was a good movie, though I'd rate it the weakest so far...
Too bad you didn't let the pollers have more than one choice because now I cannot vote. I like both "Toy Story" and "A Bug's Life". I haven't seen "Finding Nemo" or "Monster's Inc." yet and I really haven't watched all of "Toy Story 2".
Nah. Under Lucas, Pixar was primarily a hardware company. The very early short films were really "proof of concept" for the hardware. It was only after the 1986 split that they concentrated more on being filmmakers and storytellers than engineers. Ironic, since Steve Jobs of Apple Computers was the CEO and majority stockholder who shepharded that change.
i know antz and ice age arnt disney but i wanted to rank all the top notch animated movies. and bugs life being last doesnt mean i hate it. i love it. i just love the others just a little bit more for various reasons. and i forgot about shrek. 1. toy story 2. ice age 3. toy story 2 4. antz 5. monsters inc 6. bugs life 7. shrek
i don't think antz or ice age are disney movies....good movies, though! i can't pick a favorite...i like them all. my son, however, is fascinated with buzz lightyear. when he met him at disneyworld he was absolutely in awe. it was great!
toy story monsters, inc. finding nemo a bug's life toy story 2 i also like all their short animations before the actual movie (the one with pigeons on the wire cracked me up) i think antz and ice age are done by another company besides pixar.. and they were of lesser quality too, i think.
I'm seriously going to have to give up cc.net for a while. Two threads this morning that have reminded me of RM95's Girl. We loved these movies and were terribly excited about Finding Nemo.
Toy Story's #1 simply because it was the first major film of it's kind. I've heard great things about Nemo and will probably check it out some time. Antz and Ice Age aren't Disney movies by the way... Monsters Inc sucked in my opinion...too boring... I hadn't thought anything about Toy Story 2 until I caught it on my cruise and I must say it is a very good movie...might even be better than the original...
I asked my daugher (almost 3) and she told me her favorites were in this order Toy Story Monsters Toy Story 2 Then Finding Nemo if I would just take her to see it.
not bad, although they aren't all Pixar. Out of the recent animated movies, here is my list. 1. Shrek 2. Monster's Inc 3. Toy Story 4. Toy Story 2 5. Ice Age 6. Bug's Life 7. Finding Nemo 8. Antz Nemo was ok at best. My little almost 3yr old boy liked it a lot. It was the weakest out of the Pixar lineup so far.
Here is my ranking: 1 - TS2 (Even funnier than the first) 2 - TS 3 - Nemo (The best animation IMO. Lotsa colorful eye candy.) 4 - Monsters Inc. 5 - It's a Bug's Life. ( I don't think it is close to the other four.) My kids (ages 12 and 9) had simlar rankings.
of all the animated ones i've seen toy story I and II, shrek, and a bug's life. while i thought all 4 were good, i thought shrek just blew everything else out of the water. i actually saw it in hawaii (was there for a cousin's wedding) and was laughing the whole time. i almost wanted to just stay in the theater and watch the next showing but time did not permit that. still don't think i've ever been able to see it again. damn you time!
Best Pixar movies: 1. Monster's Inc. 2. Toy Story 3. Toy story 2 4. Bugs life Non Pixar: 1.Shreck ......way distant. Ice Age. I haven't seen Finding Nemo yet. Hoping for it to come out in Bahrain sometime soon.
That sucks RM95, but come on...give up on Cc.net?...is that possible? I know what you mean. Shrek and Monster's Inc are movies that remind me of my last girl...damn....it is depressing...I hate distance...
