Emilia Clarke became a star because of the show. At the end of season 3, now being a star of the show that they can't just get rid of, she said she would never do a nude scene on the show again. The actress that played the prostitute Ros said the same thing and they killed her off despite the show writers having originally planned for her character to survive and become a main part of King's Landing.
Question, why does Jorah still call her Khaleesi? He isn't Dothraki and her army isn't Dothraki anymore.
When Tyrion took over as Coin Master, he revealed that Baelish had been borrowing the Kingdom deeper and deeper into debt, but he didn't specify to whom the debt was, but the implication all along, up to and including that point, (at least in the show) was that the borrowed gold had all come from Tywin himself. I think Robert himself mentioned it early on as well, how much in debt the Kingdom was to the Lannisters. The introduction of the Iron Bank almost felt like introducing a 'new character' after the first few seasons (books?), as a way to introduce a new dynamic which simply didn't exist before.
The whole debt thing seems convoluted. Obviously it's "well known" where the money came from because Davos and Stannis went to the Iron Bank and knew that the throne was in debt.
no, they mentioned the Iron Bank of Braavos in season 3 already, think it was when Bronn wondered why the Lannisters couldn't simply default on the loans, and Tyrion said the Iron Bank always gets its gold.
I understand debt means spending more than you have. I guess what I meant is why does the crown rely on 3rd party funding from the lannisters, iron bank, etc. Because it is a kingdom and in order to control it has to come up with the money to maintain order?
Like 95% of the female cast on the show aren't even conventionally attractive. Why is nudity such a big deal again?
Emilia Clarke is hoping to have a career after GOT and she wants to be known as a great actress, not just as a hot actress. It's probably naive, but that's just how it goes I guess.
Because there is only so much you can demand of your people - either they don't have anymore or if you demand anymore they would rebel. Especially if you're trying to tax them more to give 100k gold to gratuitous tournament winners, etc (like they did when Ned was named Hand of the King). That's why they are marrying into the Tyrell's. They are the second richest family behind the Lannisters. They're trying to share the burden of running the kingdom.
Well like they said, wars are expensive. The Lannisters had to wage a massive war and they did not have the support of the Tyrells until the end of it basically. They had to raise armies to take on Stannis, Robb Stark and defend against the Ironborne. Someone has to pay for all that, and as Tywin admitted (oddly), they are out of "new gold."
Is she a natural blond [probably not that blond] If not . . i don't think i would recognize her outside of the show Rocket River
