In case any of you are in search of old Rockets tapes from the last few seasons theres a web site, www.pontel.com, that deals exclusively in selling old sports videos. I myself have ordered a couple of Moochie game-winner tapes, but I suspect you guys might want a tape of Yao vs. Shaq, or Stevie beating Utah. Just thought I'd let you guys know........
He double posted it. The admins were plenty busy earlier, closed or deleted at least six threads and probably banned a poster, all in the space of about a half hour.
I saw a couple past threads where people were looking for some old Rockets video tapes and thought I could help by letting you guys know about this site which I purchase from frequently. And no, I am not the owner.
Listen, it gives a certain price for 4-hour tapes. How does that work? Do you fill tapes, or they use a 4-hour tape PER game that you choose? Coz, I'm guessing each actual game is around 1 hour (timeouts and stuff), so you put 4 games on a tape, and you pay the price of ONE tape?
Sane, you get TWO games per tape, cause it doesn't cut out any of the commercials. When searching for tapes at the site, you'll see that the games are divided into groups of TWO games. So if you want a tape of a certain game, the other game that it's paired up with is the other game on the tape. Does that explain it???
and incase anyone wants a tape of Moochie's 35-foot bank shot to win it a couple seasons back its not listed at the site but they still have it in stock, cause I just bought it, just email them.
So you're saying if I want a Rockets game, I have to get another game regardless of whther I want it or not? It's fine with me, just checking to make sure.
yep thats the way it works, but they group the games by team so the other game would be a rockets game too. And also since 2 games usually do not fit onto a 4 hour tape, one of the games will be JIP (joined in progress) and the other game will be complete. usually you dont miss much of the game with a JIP though. what tapes are you thinking of getting??? just curious.
I've used them to get game tapes before. I just HAd to get our OT win over the Lakers. Very reliable service IMO.
i actually never considered that they might not ship to the US, the easiest way to find out would be to email them.........
