Don't be. Wyoming would be #8 on my list (I've extensively visited every state). If you like wide, open, hilly, and windy brush-lands with majestic views of the Teton Range, go there now. If you're a LOTR fan, Wyoming would be like Rohan. I have a friend who has an observatory there. Since so few people live in WY, there is minimal light pollution which is great for stargazing. And, some of the fastest speeds that I've ever driven and ridden have been in WY so that's another plus. If you fish, hunt, and generally do anything outdoors, it's the place to be. That being said, the color khaki-green will dominate your eyes. Not much variation there. Also, the few people that you will meet won't exactly be the most cosmopolitan, especially versus Denver or Aspen. I'm an introvert, but even I couldn't stay there longer than a month. Also, the winters are miserable.
Can't say I have a favorite... Texas is cheaper, and has better food... California is just overall incredible... and I have fond memories of Colorado and Maryland...
Vermont. Beautiful, remote and unlike many other states like that (Alaska, Montana, Wyoming) very liberal and I don't have too far to get to a major city. Colorado is a close second. I probably would like Washington but I've never been. California is beautiful but I dispise LA and anything near it. Texas, well I love Houston, Austin, and to some extent San Antonio. Very little of the rest of the state I like. Dallas, FT. Worth and most of east texas can fall of the face of the earth and I wouldn't care.
I miss the people in Texas but if I had choose one state to live in for the rest of my life, it'd be Washington. Nowhere else even comes close.
I love(d) Texas....but I gotta say: now that I live in CO and PIGS can't do much to you re: mar1juana possession. GOD BLESS COLORADO It's a nice feeling rolling up to one of MANY, MANY, MANY weed stores and grabbing what your adult ass wants to grab. I'll never move back to a non-THC legal state. F U TX
For me, it's between California and Florida... never thought I'd say this, but at this point I'd probably lean California (specifically northern), because the weather is simply unbeatable.
I love TX due to many reasons : economy , weather , Job market , women , cost of living . If cost of living wasn't a issue , I would choose Cali .
has OP lived in any other state? not sure why guy always starts comparative threads on either Houston vs other Texas cities and now Texas vs. everywhere else. but let's compare road trips Orange Texas to El Paso via I 10 or San Diego to Napa Valley via the PCH
I have been to Cali few times , every time I visit. I want to stay there , but it is harder to maintain a similar lifestyle due to housing housing costs and other costs. Rather live in a state with the best economy and lower to costs to live a comfortable lifestyle . If I made 150 K , I would bounce the next minute .
Me too, unfortunately it seems like well paying jobs are hard to find there and people are moving out
I guess most people here love California. I never have been to California before but I might visit there soon, can anybody give me the trip advice? Which city should I go? SF, LA, SD, or whatever based on your best overall experience?
Can't go wrong with any of those. I personally like LA. Lots of diversity, great food of all kinds, Hollywood, Universal Studios, good nearby beaches (Santa Monica, Venice). There's a chance you'll run into a B-List actor you vaguely recognize. But a lot of people hate LA, so what do I know. SD has pretty much perfect weather and an awesome zoo, but it's smaller. SF is nice but tends to be cold all the time.
