I'm not ready to give up on James just yet. However, if he continues his BS 'no defense' policy than we should consider trading him for the right package.
Is it not sad that we all agree that he "needs" a coach to push him? Instead of him driving himself like how a top player does? With this much freedom given from mchale he should push his teammates at least. If with freedom he does nothing, how do we know how he will respond to a rough coach.
No, LOFs want to keep him, cozs Harden and Rockets deserve each other, Lin will leave in few months anyway.
ahhhh...have you ever seen melo working on the defensive end....???? so what's the point............??????????????
I'll trade him only for the "right" person and that is a very short list. KD, LBJ and Melo (I'll have to think deeply about this). They are the only reasons I voted yes. But, if Harden's not going to change his defensive ways next season, then I'll be glad to trade him even for those 2nd-tier stars that aren't defensive liability.
Melo? What is there to think about let alone deeply? Lol.. That's a downgrade. It's a lateral move in terms of what they bring to the table and factor in the age differrnce and there's nothing to think about.
joined 2013 with 'azn' in screen name and wants to trade Lin?!?!?!?!?!?! a real fan from that class? amazing. repped.
Willing to trade Harden because of his lack of D to bring in Melo with his lack of D. Well thought out post man. The dude is 24 years old and can only get better in my opinion.
If he keeps up playing with the same no defense mentality and challenging the coach next season I'd ship his azz out in a heartbeat. Rather have a slightly less talented player that is fully committed to success and teamwork.
How would MJ's career have progressed without an early mentor like Phil Jackson? No one knows. You have a point about self motivation but if you can't get anywhere near max potential out of a player you need to take a hard look at coaching. Quite often the teacher fails the student as much as the opposite. Lin fans should agree, no?
Could work, but I'd still have doubts about trying to win a championship with a Max contract player that doesn't play for the team and puts himself above success. Maybe a new coach will put a leash on him, but I don't think Harden will ever be a player that really thinks in the basketball way you'd want him to. It's really hard to change the mind of a diva, so better trade him for somebody that immediately by us into the concept. You can see that the team has issues with Harden and his ego, not committing to defense and game plans etc, he's a risk regarding our team chemistry.
