His team has made it to the Finals two years in a row. Why aren't we going balls-out to get this guy? I mean, people are all talking about signing or trading for a 'pure point guard', like Jason Kidd, but they're ignoring the thing that makes that team go, and that is obviously their head coach, Byron Scott. That guy obviously knows how to install a great offensive system. We should be doing everything in our power to get this guy out of his contract with New Jersey. I mean who better to make Francis and Mobley shape up than Byron Scott? It's pretty obvious. What the hell is CD thinking? He's sitting on his hands while this blue chip coach is out there ready to be had. After forcing out Rudy, we deserve the best there is, and that is obviously Scott. This guy got his team farther than Larry brown, for crying out loud. What are we waiting for?
The guy knows how to install an offensive system....BY HIRING EDDIE JORDAN to install one for him. Eddie Jordan is the one who designed the offensive system for the Nets...and Jordan is probably leaving to Toronto or Philly.... Byron Scott. He's an OK coach. We can't get him though. Unless JASON KIDD COMES HERE! Whooo!
Rename our team to the Lakers. He'll be here quicker than flies on **** if he found out the Lakers had a coaching vacancy.
Yeah. Scott looks mean. But I guess he would be a good coach. But he ain't available! Why don't we try to get Gregg Poppovich and Rick Adelman and Pat Riley too......well we shouldn't wait too long...unless they are waiting for somebody to resign...
Absolutely- I'll take my time like CD and write Joe Dumars and ask how you cut a "behind the outhouse" deal with a standing-coach under contract to another team - then hire him aggressively as soon as his team gives him a release. We can make sure New Jersey will not want compensation. One problem- Rod Thorn - he use to be David Stern's right hand man. Will not happen without trouble from the NBA power elite... But possibly a few minor hurdles and Byron Scott is ours...
