A couple of trade ideas. I doubt the Rockets would ever do this but I wouldn't mind seeing the following: Harden and Dmo for Kevin Love Asik, Lin and T. Jones and draft picks if necessary for Carmelo
I agree, I don't think the Rockets would ever give up Harden unless it was for Lebron. I think Minnesota would definitely do it. If Carmelo chose to leave New York, the Knicks would probably consider it but Morey may not even want Carmelo.
Legit question with no intention to bash, why are you interested in getting Love here over a guy like Harden?
What about trading D12 + Lin for Rondo + J Green + Olynyk + B.Bass. Sign Greg Monroe to contract Rest Tender Detroit can't match. Trade Asik for a backup SG, spark off the bench and cap room. Sign Carmelo. Resign Parsons PG: Rondo, Beverly, Canaan SG: Harden, Backup SG, Daniels SF: Parsons, J. Green PF: Carmelo, B.Bass, Jones C: Monroe, Olynyk, Monte Lots of scoring and defense at every position except SG and PF.
How about 3 way trade w/ Celtics and Twolves: http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ov6e4kv PG - Rondo, Bev, Canaan SG - Harden, Daniels SF - Min Vet, Covington PF - Love, C - Howard, Olynyk
G Monroe is a 5... (in 3 years will be 10 times the player as D12 will be in 3 years) Howard -- bad back and still can't shoot free throws - mid 20M per year Monroe -- Hitting his prime with 5 or more years to go - mid teens per year take your pick (0.o)
This team absolutely needs Rajon Rondo. I would give the Celtics Lin, Asik, and a draft pick for Rondo. They would have to throw in another player to make the salaries match though, maybe Bass. The two positions that this team is truly lacking is at PF and at PG. If we can bring in two defensive minded players that also bring something to the table on offense than we will be set. Rondo checks that box off for me at PG. I question whether or not Bass can play defense but I do know that he is a stretch 4 that has played with Dwight before, so maybe it will work.
Rondo harden parsons bass Howard Good line up...but I still dont like the pf position. Id love horford or milsap.
As crazy as it would be to get rid of Harden, I feel Kevin Love would be a great fit here and is basically what the Rockets have been needing, a stretch 4. Adding Carmelo I feel would help replace the scoring of Harden but that would leave a huge hole at the two spot. They would still have Parsons to use as trade bait but Maury would have to get really creative to add a legit two guard with the lack of cap room that trade would create. Was just throwing something out there.
3 Way: Rockets In: R Rondo, P Millsap, G Wallace Rockets Out: C Parsons, O Asik, J Lin, T Jones Boston In: C Parsons, J Lin Boston Out: R Rondo, G Wallace Atlanta In: O Asik, T Jones Atlanta Out: P Millsap Of course, for this trade to work, C Parsons would need to agree to a SnT, in the value near Gerald Wallace. Doing this would offload Wallace's contract unto us. We would also of course add picks to whomever and if needed, can use T. Daniels and I. Canaan as prospects sweeteners. Wallace isn't exactly his old self but you have to take back contracts in a deal like this. Boston gets a new contract with Parsons, they get to play with the Chinese market if Les will allow a trade like this Off load Wallace's contract, get some picks and prospects (in Daniels and Canaan if needed). Atlanta is the least likely to do this but with this they get to put Horford back at his natural 4. They work with Jones as a decent back up and Asik can be happy again playing full time. Can be a very strong defensive front court.
I don't think Rondo is on the block. Ainge probably can add to his All Star point guard. And trading Harden? Naturally it won't happen. I've fantasized Harden and Asik into Philly's cap space for their two lottery picks, then using that caproom on whatever free agent. We just have to hope Harden grows up fast.
