funny to see how everyone is obsessing over the term x's and o's all of a sudden.

my cousin from cali mentioned that as well when talking about a better replacement for Jackson.

    Mchale gets out-coached.

Team realizes he needs an X's and O's strategist to help out-maneuver opposing coaches.

Hire Mik Brown who gets out-coached as much as Mchale?

    Ughhhhhhh

    WHEN WILL IT END?!

Morey's really trying to prove that coaching doesn't matter in the NBA.
We're striving to be the most talented team versus worst coaching staff in the league.

Mike Brown needs to stay away from head coaching jobs considering how bad his reputation is right now as a head coach.

Would I be cool with bringing him in as the defensive assistant...yes.

I want Phil Collins. I think that would be a better fit.

LOL but Mike Brown is probably a tad better than Mchale.

I was about to rep this post and then noticed that pippendagimp has been banned. Anyone know what happened?

Not sure I like the idea of Mike Brown coming in. He may help the defense, but he seems just as incompetent and lost as McHale.

It was a stupid reason that wasn't his fault.

I would like this move. Mike Brown is a terrible head coach but would fill a huge need for the Rockets. And I'm not sure of who in their right mind would hire Mike Brown as a head coach anytime soon. That guy needs at least a two year break from head coaching before he gets another look from an NBA team.

Rockets need to stop playing and just fire McHale.

He's not a good enough head coach and the players are going to have to do too much to overcome him.

It wasn't his fault that he attacked a female poster and essentially called her a 'hoe'?

Never been a huge critic of McHale, but it is clear as water that he failed his players, the franchise and it's fans with poor to no strategy against Portland. When you have two superstars and you are not able to get past the first round, you need to be accountable.

It is rather interesting that a very smart man like Morey would stake his career on a head coach that has proven to be mediocre. McHale could be Morey's fall from grace.

The Rockets never fire anyone. They don't stop "playing". They "play" and they "play" and they "play" until the coach without a contract goes quietly into the night. No parade. No glory. Just a door.

Who do we hire for offensive X's and O's then? Because McHale sucks at that too.

    There's truth to this.

For some reason Les Alexander doesn't seem to really fire coaches. Even though there is now an "out" on McHale's contract, Les is allowing McHale to stay for all four years on the deal (including what must be a fourth-year team option).

Maybe Les has it stubbornly set in his brain: a coach is good for four years and then, pfffffft! On to the next.

Rudy Tomjanovic: "Allowed to step down for health reasons"

    Jeff Van Gundy: 4 years

    Rick Adelman: 4 years

Kevin McHale: 4 years (which is four years too many)
