Why would "this" matter? He has no leverage, he's going nowhere so unless you think he'll retire they don't have a need for another WR

If they still dont win, then he will know that everything was done to put together a competitive roster.

Not everyone wins...thats whats getting lost here. There are many greats that never won. If all you are playing for is a championship, then you should never demand a contract that causes the team to have to sacrifice in other areas.

What NFL championship team had a receiver that had a cap hit of 12 million? How often does that happen? Fact of the matter is that the WR position is not very important...and championship teams can get by without spending much in that department. If you are team like Houston...or Detroit...where 12+ million is going to one receiver on the team, then you are at a big disadvantage when it comes to having a well rounded team that can compete for a title.

Andre cant have it both ways...

He has alot of good will in this city
he will lose some .. . but many will support him
for a new regime. . . . not exactly the way they want to start things
by taking a gigantic dump on the most popular player in the history of the fanchise

Im not sure what point you are making...those 15 years of exercise are good for you...he should be thankful he's in a profession where in the offseason, his "job" is to exercise and be fit. You make it seem like eating right and exercising is torture.

The dentist, on the other hand, doesnt have a work schedule of August-January, with 6 months "off". It's a 12 month season for...that brings with it neck and back issues.

We could have or should have traded up for Manziel or even Bridgewater Bet he would not be talking like this.

The football player could have studied in HS and college but he decided to go the other route. You are arguing for a premise that is not only irrelevant, it is ridiculous.

He must be frustrated he has to learn a new and complicated offensive system again with no assurance of contending.

His frustration is understandable. If he asks for a trade, the organization should grant it to honor what he has done for the franchise. Fact of life--Texans need to rebuild. If he stays, he needs to trust the new HC.

He may have more leverage than you think....

O'Brien is a first time NFL head coach and just about every veteran on this team came up under Dre. I'm sure Dre holds much more clout in that locker room than O'Brien... Could make it hard for a 1st time head coach to implement his ideas and way of thinking. Don't want Dre walking around miserable and not buying in. A lot of those players look up to Dre so that could get contagious.

Do you think these guys don't talk to each other....??? Do you think Dre is the only player that feels that way...???

They may have to trade him.

Do you think J.J. is paying attention to what's going on _ and looking at Dre who is a great player with nothing to show for it but stats in money...??? They better get their stuff together because J.J. can get $100 million anywhere.

    touche...

But you also have to figure that Marshall was 26 when he was traded the first time and almost 28 the second time he was traded, Dre will be 33 when the season starts. I don't think you can expect much more than maybe a 4th round pick for a WR his age. But maybe I'm wrong.

If he goes into full blown TO mode, they'd just tell him to stay home for the remainder of his contract and it would effectively end his career. The Texans don't have to do anything.

I do think J.J. is paying attention, and is probably disgusted by Andre not being a team player all of a sudden.

It's a lot easier to be a dentist than it is to be a top notch NFL WR. And dentist don't have to worry about getting the 5h1t knocked out of them while doing a root canal.
