Dean Cooper got screwed! The defense is JB Bickerstaff's fault!

Hmm... starting to question the management abilities of the org when the assistant coach gets the blame, and not the head coach.

Oh well, McHale, you're a lucky man.

JCF: You mentioned that your focus tends to be on the defensive end, so what are your defensive goals for this team?

DC: Definitely keep the ball out of the paint. Every NBA team wants to keep the ball out of the paint. We know what shots are the most efficient shots in the league and which are the least, and we’re trying to form the defensive principles to accomplish that.

And some of defense has to do with your personnel, too, more so with the bigs than the smalls. Some guys are effective playing pick-and-roll coverages staying back; some bigs are more effective playing pick-and-roll coverages if they can get up and out and impact the ball. I think we have a pretty good feel for that, but it’s going to be a work in progress for that, too.

That brings up a good point. How about Coach Clutch the Bear?

Surround him with good assistants...could work.

What a joke. I doubt even 10 people outside the organization even knew who this assistant coach was. If you don't hold the head coach responsible for defensive underperformance it basically means you don't care about defense.

It's the guy who used to play Superman on some show with Teri Hatcher.

    We could keep everyone happy!

McHale has to wear the Bear outfit during games and practices.

I'd like Mike Woodson, that guy actually got Carmelo to play defense, pity their front office's solution was to then hand him Andrea Bargnani (that team had 55m dedicated to Melo, Stat and Bargs.... lol)

Well, you can't fire Harden. So you fire the coach who's supposed to get the guys to play defense.

kevin mchale has the greatest job in the world.

you don't do **** but clap your hands, give coaching soundbites for the tv, get paid millions, and not be held accountable when your team under performs.

maybe they'll fire the equipment manager when the rocket get exposed next year in the playoffs.

Mchale should have resigned and done the honorable thing so we can mercifully get a coach that coaches. I cant see any reason to look forward to nxt season, with this guy coaching.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding this, but wasn't he just a fill in until the offseason when a better coach could be acquired?

My doubts about how this team is being run are deepening by the day.

McHale's job is to hold Dean Cooper accountable.
