I think this is about the right spot to gamble on a player. He's certainly a 1st round talent whose issues made him fall. If the Texans believe this draft isn't deep enough to reach the 5th round area, then this is a perfectly good trade.

A bit surprised they're basically forgoing the WR position with this trade given how deep it is this year. I know they have two starters, but AJ is kind of getting up there in age and we don't exactly have good options for 3 wideout sets.

Are knee issues the reason for his drop? I've been way behind on the injury info for a lot of these guys.

the rumors were that he has no cartilage in one of his knees which would have caused the drop

Ok thanks... We still could use a d- line and ilb ( coverage)

I say at this point we just don't draft a qb

    I'm leaning towards Brett Hundley.

I see. Is that more concerning because of his size? Could name half a dozen basketball players who don't have cartilage in at least one knee.

Well yeah, the worry is that he's starting out without any cartilage and he's 350+....that said, he's on the Texans now so I hope the concerns are overblown. The kid is a beast when he's on the field.

I was expecting much more negativity about trading up. I appreciate that our fans are not as ignorant as some. It seems like fans react negatively unless the team drafts someone they can play with in Madden.

Oh come on. We had a guy name Owen Daniel and Kevin Walters. We even had Matt Schub. Let some of us have Watts.

Remember 3 years ago when Da'quan Bowers dropped from top 5 pick to the middle of the 2nd because his knee was totally shot? The most dire predictions had him out of the league in a year or so...

Granted, he hasn't been very good, and he's had plenty of medical problems including one with the other knee, but the one that they were sure was going to explode if an O lineman breathed on it has been OK.

Most recently I remember DeJuan Blair falling for that reason, and that's a pretty big dude jumping around out there.

Either way, our gain I think.

No doubt, if he's healthy then Nix, Clowney, and Watt all demand double team's at all times. That's going to make it REALLY tough on opposing QB's
