You do not need freaking Parker to expose Lillard.

Just Lin or Harden running the PnRs would make Lillard's head spinning.

There's a bit of a problem there, Portland weren't really attacking Harden (well maybe when milk hair put him on Lopez...), they were attacking Jones for 2 games (remember those?) then they were attacking Parsons, Batum went absolutely nuts for games 3, 4 and 5, and then when Harden was put on him in game 6 they didn't go to Batum...

Portland weren't really using Matthews in their offense at all, because he was absolutely boned from playing defense.

Even Tony Parker would be useless standing in the corner waiting for Harden to hand the ball over with 2secs left on the clock.

I recall quite a few Matthews post-ups, and there was that one game where McHale finally sat Harden because Matthews and Batum were going straight at him in the post (and scoring) on every possession. I distinctly remember that b/c McHale tried to be diplomatic in his sideline interview by saying, "Umm, well.. the problem is that they keep going straight at... one of our guys in the post."

Say what? There was one game where they literally went straight at Harden for 10 consecutive possessions in the FIRST quarter alone. Post ups, back door cuts and screens were all designed to go straight at Harden.

I find it utterly mind boggling that you don't remember that...

that's bull**** and you know it. parker is one of the quickest guards in the league with really good handles and awareness.

lin is not quicker than lillard and has poor awareness. doesn't have very good handles. on top of that lin never keeps his dribble alive and always leaves his feet with no options.

lillard wouldn't guard harden so unless you plan to have your skinny little pg's set picks your **** won't work.

be real man, parker is a great great player you're not giving him enough credit. we don't have a parker on the roster so my point stands.

I don't think Milk Hair will grow. That's my biggest concern. Harden will grow and I have confidence in him but Milk Hair? He is a joke. Dude has no clue in game. He is more like a watcher rather than a coach. Pathetic decision to keep this guy. Plays will get upset next yr and Mchale can live the fk with his ego and stubbornness as the HOF. Sick of it. A nice guy does not equal to a great coach. No discipline at all

Lin does not get to run the teams or is their first or second scoring option. Of course he won't be Nash or Parker coming off the bench. sheesh. Now he has to mold his game differently, and Lin is trying to adapt.

I remember it, but it was the only time, and compared to the regular season, Portland ran more plays for Lillard and Aldridge and less for Matthews ands Batum, which is a really odd way to attack a player defending Matthews and Batum and not Lillard and Aldridge, especially considering we're meant to be a team that is weak on the wing defense.

It's literally the same as saying, Harden shot well because you saw one quarter where he was hitting all his shots....

Parker is one of the best PG's and i do not discredit him.
What i am tryna say is Lillard is known for his sorry ass D that we didnot make him work enough. Parker would be too good of an attacker that Lillard has no business checking him. A "consistent" Lin with confidence would have exposed his D let alone Parker.

The Rockets didn't have issues scoring on the Blazers for the most part-- having generated a 114.8 points per 100 possessions offensive rating for the series despite a bad series from Harden and some stretches of ball "stickiness" and cold 3 point shooting. Dwight Howard scored well most of the time, and the other guys each did well for stretches to keep the score board ticking.

The main issue was that the Rockets allowed the Blazers to generate 114.4 points per 100 possession.

The difference with the Spurs isn't that they are scoring on the Blazers, but that they are stoping the Blazers from scoring as much.

Rockets got DPOY Beverley who is "best fit" for Harden, remember? Most of you guys advocated this theory, now it is all on Mchale?

So we would need Tony Parker to beat the Trailblazers?
