Should we expect Mchale's resignation tomorrow? lol I would be embarrassed and ashamed right now. Guess Sampson did the smart thing jumping the ship early.

Second round games have been a big yawn fest so far after a historic first round.

A healthy Beverley may have helped defense against Lillard, but it's hard to say considering that didn't happen.

Its not the Rockets offense I'd be worried about... the Spurs would put up 140 points on their defense.

Also, the Rockets never faced a full strength Spurs team. The only player the Spurs could not contain in the regular season is Harden... and the Blazers just put out a blue-print on how to contain him.

Mchale is like a student from elementary school in front of Popovich.

Spurs up by a lot and never let up. Rockets get happy with a little lead and start to feel safe. Parsons saying that they thought Game 6 was over with a 2pt lead speaks volumes about the mindset of the team.

When Morey watches this, is he thinking this massive halftime lead is a result of a:

    A) Superior coaching and discipline; or
    B) Superior roster

I hope all the Rockets (including staff) are watching this game. This should be ingrained in their minds for all of next season on what to do.

TBH if we played the Spurs in the Playoffs...we would have better chance than Blazers, but im sorry to say, we would lose it in 5 or 6 games.

Spurs have too much experience and more polished.

Playoffs is a totally different animal. Not only do the Ref's hold their whistle a lot more, but teams can focus and spend more time analyzing you in a playoff series. Most of the time, teams that have great chemistry, tons of experience and good at exploiting weaknesses will, majority of the time, win out.

Did they though? They didn't do anything except that Harden got literally no calls and looked like normal Harden at the end of the series.

If anything it looked like Harden stopped Harden. They really did not do anything that another team hasn't tried. Mathews got a way with fouling him on every play as well but that's not surprising.

Spurs don't have a superior roster. They are very old but still blow-outing Blazers at halftime. Amazing. It is all about coaching.

Rockets should feel embarrassed right now.

But Spurs are blowing the Blazers out. Let's relax guys. It's going to be a fun series. First time Blazers have gotten to 2nd round since 2000.

Game 1s have sucked as a whole.

I commented on the calls earlier in the thread, but the spurs are clearly playing much better defense than we did. Not just team defense, but individual as well. They don't bite on any of Aldridge's pump fakes and TJones just couldn't handle him at all. Even if Aldridge were hitting those crazy shots he hit against us they'd still be losing, as they've shut down all of his teammates. We didn't shut down anyone. Wesley Matthews was abusing Harden for crying out loud.

Portland blew their wadd on the Rockets. Not much left in the tank.
And yes, I mean that both ways.

Spurs looked at full strength here

    http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=400489118

Also the Rockets beat the Spurs without Harden in one of their wins

Even with Melo on the Rockets we'd still lose in the 1st round, lol. But, we'd be one hell of a regular season team though.
