We need to bring in a coach that is going to hold Harden accountable.

Harden is in cruise mode and is living the high life (women, $$, fame has gotten to him). He seems perfectly happy with the status quo. If we dont get a coach soon that will put Harden in his place, things will get worse.

I think it is clear that the locker room issues that Codman was talking about involves Harden and his attitude/work habits.

i want to say it's lin's fault for passing him the ball instead of running the play but as previous vids show if harden doesn't get the ball it's 4 on 5. he just stands motionlessly. no decoy/movement whatsoever. this is probably dwight's meaning of "personal agendas."

Coach tells Lin to do something.
    Lin doesn't do it.
    "It's Harden's fault!"

    You guys are morons.

Do you actually trust Mchale to read what the defense is giving and call the right play?

Look at the Spurs, if Pop makes a call like that it's because he sees the defense opening up there.

Clear to see that Harden deserves the blame.

I don't mind star players demanding the ball. It should happen. In the same way a PG should manage the flow of the game ( something the Rockets don't do ). So long as the star player and everyone on the court knows what is going to happen it can be a good thing. And so long as the star player is making the right choices. Trying to stop a run. Trying to maintain a lead. Trying to get to the line. Whatever, but everyone still needs to be in it together.

Parsons is the team captain, not Harden...

Harden is the man, don't you know? Mchale is too scared to face Harden and tell him what to do. Harden has been doing this the whole season without Mchale disciplining him. Telling Lin to do it, is just a sign of fear for Harden. He is the man on the team, not Mchale. You should know that by now.

Mcfail cant disipline Haren, or he would've bench him in regular season when this happened. instead he pick Lin as the middle man to try to enforce plays and he can sit outta it avoid conflict with the max contract player. if Haren demand the ball and break the play he will just scold Lin. Lin cant do too much either for he still need to work together with Haren to win the game, as the character figure of "im the leader i dont need to change" any conflict with him would just trigger the other quitter character that get him rest in mid court not involved in the play and dont play D at all.

that's why I say Mcfail is a very good office politician that he pleased both max contract players by not holding them accountable and that's why he get their support to stay one more year. and that's why I insist on firing him bcoz there is absolutely no hope for this team win anything under his politician management. but apparently he dragged Daryl and Les into it, his fail means Les' fail and Haren's fail translate to Daryl's fail, so to not to look like idiots on the media they got to keep the Hollywood going as if they all made good and correct decisions. hey the organization still make good profit and even they screwed up like this they still got some fanatic fans defending them here right? so why not keep the Hollywood and profit, just party and drink for another financially successful year?

Bobrek are you a lawyer? I see what my eyes tell me and here you go changing what I'm thinking. Stop it pleeeeeeease.

But Superstars call off plays all the time. I am surprised how defensive you got though

McHale dug himself the grave by forcing Lin to play SG all year long from the bench, and now he had to lie in there. Resetting ball handling authority back to the humble guy may be the solution. Harden became more efficient the last 2 games, maybe partially due to less ball handling duty.

Harden indeed had a much better percentage of Catch & Shot,
but he rather did lots of step back jumpers.

He is in general good at the latter too. But everything through him and him alone makes the offense too predictable, thus easier to defend, particularly in PO. Rockets should have developed a better 2nd option for handling the ball to have some more reliable variety out there. Lin would be the natural candidate for it, yet for unknown reason McHale chose Parsons and Beverley ahead of him. When all this failed to work out in the PO as anticipated, he had no choice but to resort back to Lin's regressed PG skill, which was still better than Parsons' and Bev's under pressure. Wasted regular season!

not that im fully supporting rondo, he does have his downsides, but he DEFINITELY wouldn't have given harden the ball. he probably wouldn't give him the ball if mchale told him to as well.

    Heh.

I take it that being shouted at by Harden is much worse
than being shouted at by McHale.

I wonder where being shouted at by Parsons/Howard ranks in there.

    Poor guy. Just cant win.

You're projecting. I simply stated a question from an alternate POV from the OP. My opinion is that this is ridiculously overblown. I don't think Lin or Harden did anything wrong on that possession.

Nice to know we can play devil's advocate or throw in alternate scenarios without being immediately labeled.

I was thinking about these same things this morning when I was listening to these topics on 790 (other players dropping hints in the exit interviews). I really hope he's not one of those stars that doesn't have that burning desire to win. I feel like we've seen that fire before, but if the unspoken barbs are really about him... Well, we all need to be very concerned. I agree we need a strong coach that won't put up with that kind of BS. Again, purely speculating, but if James IS that kind of guy it might not be too late to get him straightened out.
