Detroit can have Larry Brown. Give me Rick Carlisle. No one has done more with less talent than he has the past two seasons. I would love to have him in Houston.

he made a team that revolves on ben wallace (who just knows defense) to be the #1 team in the east. that's good enough with me. i wonder what he can do with offensive firepowers such as francis, yao, posey, cat...??? bring rick carlisle to houston! ok, now i dont know who to root, LARRY BROWN, PAUL SILAS, RICK CARLISLE.. oh man...

how dumb can the pistons be....

Like I said in the NBA Forum, this is bizarre.
I can't remember so many quality coaches being available at once for such a variety of reasons... many of them strange.

    Wow.

This is crazy. Completely, but maybe every head coach in the league has an agent telling them: "Now's the time to piss off your boss".
I say Larry Brown announces his decision in less than 48 hours. Because this is getting more absurd than any "reality" show a network can come up with.

man this more looks like the matching game.. match the right coach to the team you think is suitable for the team:

    COACH
    Larry Brown
    Mike Dunleavy
    Paul Silas
    Jeff Van Gundy
    Rick Carlisle

    TEAM
    Houston Rockets
    Cleveland Cavaliers
    Detroit Pistons
    Washington Wizards
    Atlanta Hawks
    Toronto Raptors
    Philadelphia 76ers
    Los Angeles Clippers
    New Orleans Hornets

I'm waiting for Phil Jackson to get fired. After all, he didn't even make the Championship game, much less win it. He's lost it. Fire him! :D

man, what the hell are the pistons thinking? They're giving up one of the young and best coaches in the league. If we can't get Brown, I am looking in Carlisle's way.

Pistons' move just made Wizards' fiasco not so bad. It got to be the stupidest decision this offseason!

If we can't get Brown, Rick Carlisle is a much better choice than JVG.

Before I saw your post, this was the exact thought that crept into my mind.

After this firing, anything can happen.

Does anyone know if Rudy's contract was bought out or what the conditions were?

If work leaks out that Rudy is up interviewing in Detroit, then we will all know, once and for all, that Rudy was forced to resign by Les.

I would love to have Carlisle, but from what the radio said ( take it for what it's worth,it was Fox) Carlisle wants a gig where he can have personnel control. With CD in place I really doubt that we would make that he can get that here.

What is Detroit thinking? personally i would love to see Rudy T take the job but i don't see it happening. If it did, the Pistons would be my 2nd favorite team

This coaching carousel is by far the most fascinating thing happening in the NBA right now.

It would stand to reason that Dumars must have something very big in mind....Larry Brown anyone? The poster who brought up the Darko connection makes alot of sense. Now I wonder if Denver gets in the LB sweepstakes by firing Bzdelik...only half joking.

You've also got to wonder if Indiana would have any interest in Carlisle? I don't think it matters anymore that they already have a coach in place.

As far as the Rox are concerned I don't think it would hurt to at least talk to Carlisle. They're not that far in the process that another candidate can't be added to the mix.

After Silas' interview yesterday I am personally rooting for him. I really liked the way he developed young guys like Magliore and Baron Davis despite all the distractions with the Hornets. I think Silas would be a good coach for SF and Yao. He also just want to concentrate on coaching which would suit CD just fine.

What is Piston thinking? Want replace Rick Carlisle with Larry Brown.

Haha, the world is really full of idiots. Carlisle has done much better job than Brown in this two years. Coach of year in his first year, and eastern conference first seed, conference final in his second year with no super star (Ben Wallace only count half super star cause he has no offence).

And he is much much younger than Brown!!!

    Just amazing.

    Unbelievable!

Not a single coach got more out of his players than Carlisle. He completely turned that Pistons team around after several seasons of mediocrity.

The Rockets need to get stop whatever they’re doing, get on the phone and give him a call right this second. Carlisle’s now my number one candidate for coach. He’s a younger, more stable version of Brown.

    what a shock this is.

Maybe there was something going on we fans don't know about. This makes no sense. Carlisle is a good young head coach, who got his team to the Eastern Finals with Rip Hamilton as his best offensive player.

    That's called overachieving.

I think he'd be great in houston, but does he have a decent offensive scheme?
