They aren't scrubs, but neither are we. We don't have a good coach on court which is a large part of being a coach. I don't care about the locker room and how much they love each other behind closed doors. The proof is in the pudding. The proof is on court.

Getting NBA players, who are prima donnas, to respect and like you is 90% of the battle of being an NBA head coach. I'm okay with McHale because of that.

I also have a lot of respect for him inserting Parsons in the starting lineup for Budinger in that one season.

Also him starting Dragic instead of Lowry two years ago. He makes great changes to the lineups that help the team.

His X's and O's aren't all there, but his player management is an A.

Thou request shall not be heeded on this internet forum.

MCHALE IS NOT A GOOD STRATEGIST AND I HAVE NO FAITH HE CAN MAXIMISE THE POTENTIAL OF OUR PLAYERS.

dude, he had no choice. Lowry got sick.

Harden on Lopez. TJones on LMA in Game 1. Scola playing center alongside PPat. Parsons on Lillard.

    Exceptional unorthodox decisions, still wrong

He makes a great scapegoat for people who don't want to face reality, i.e.

we were hurt by the refs,
    someone blew game 4,
    Dwight missed crucial free throws,
    Harden had a weak series,
    Parsons missed tons of layups,
    Beverley was sick,
    Jones did not perform well,
D-Mo and Casspi did not deserve PT,
    we LOST.

McHale is fine. A lot of people just can't be happy even with a 54-win season.

I see that Dwight's post game has improved dramatically since he arrived, which is probably why Howard has his back. Could be why he is back all together.

Benefit of the doubt - Perhaps losing Sampson (The defensive coach) had a much bigger effect than we imagined.

Morey has to keep McHale in order to pursue Kevin Love and convince him to demand a trade to Houston.

    Chandler Parsons
    Jeremy Lin
    Omer Asik
    Terrence Jones or Donatas Motiejunas
    + future 1st rd pick

    For

    Kevin Love
    Jj Barea
    Gorgui Dieng

See if that works on the trade machine. ;)

I don't agree. Morey gets a behind the scene look at everything that McHale does. We do not have the same information that Morey has. Morey is more informed than any of us. Morey seems to think McHale is the right man for the job at this time. I'm not in favor of changing coaches anytime we don't win a championship.

i'd really want to know what the players think of mchale after their series with portland. do they think they could do it without him? if so, then the recruiting part matters, otherwise during the season and playoffs they find coach a liability, then no one would want to come here...

I don't have a problem with McHale as the head coach, but he needs better assistant coaches around him. Would love to see the Rockets hire Lawrence Frank as an assistant. Frank is super-detailed and could provide scouting of tendencies and such while McHale sets the overall tone.

these are certainly all reality, but you missed one - coaching error / lack of strategy and cohesiveness. this one is important b/c he could have fixed a lot of these. surely he couldn't change someone missing free throws, someone having a bad series, someone being sick, someone underperforming, but you certainly can make adjustments earlier to get people better looks, sub people out of the rotation for someone that would be more effective. those are all things that a coach can and should do during a playoff series.

He seems like a nice guy.
    Nice guy cant coach.

Players seem to like him and respond to him.
Because he never hold them accountable except Lin.

Continuity can be a good thing.
    Continuity of bad coaching

    A solid motivator.
    Cant motivate Haren play D.

NO NEGATIVE STUFF ABOUT MCHALE IN THIS THREAD PLEASE. WE HAVE LIKE 100 THREADS FOR THAT. LETS SAY GOOD THINGS ABOUT THE MAN HERE!!!!!
Censorship never works in US no exception here. and I'd like to say this is the most stupid thread today.

I didn't miss one. The thread specifically asks for no negatives about McHale. I agree with you. McHale could have done different things. Pretty much everything in the series was less than ideal. Except Troy Daniels, but even he didn't hit all of his shots. It's by definition: ideal is not reality. Nothing went perfect! OMG OMG. It's so embarrassing to think what CF must look like from the outside. We really are a fractious, whiny fan base.
