This is not the 90s when players hated each other

In today's nba most guys are friends with the opposition

Yeah its petty and it doesn't really matter but I mean partying with the team that beat you in the playoffs the NIGHT it happens? I'm sorry but I could never do that because I would be so pissed off and heartbroken, especially with how they lost.

Well then according to Asian Sensation we should be skewering the whole team. I ofcourse get where you're coming from, but I wouldn't hold athletes to a different standard than myself, and plenty of times ive gone out drinking with the opposition just after we've played them in footy, for Australian's its like the Shute shield level....obviously they're getting paid millions, have millions of fans, and I understand why this would rub people the wrong way, but what they do in their personal life doesn't really concern me.

All that concerns me is how they perform on the court, if this chumminess and friendliness sabotages their ability to compete at the highest level, then its an issue, but I'm not going to crap on someone who's gone out to party with friends (someone said Lin's bestie was Dorell from GS) after a season of one of the most physically taxing seasons when I do the exact same thing. This is a different NBA now where everyone seems to be mates.

I don't care who Dwight impregnates, how many stripclubs Harden goes to, how many asian cuties Lin refuses to slay for whatever reason, unless it affects how they perform on the court. Watch the post game presser with Lin and Parsons after game 5 and tell me he doesn't care enough.

Eh.. Pretty sure people would crucify him if they found out from social media, that he went back to Portland next week by himself, to hang with a friend(s) who happen to be a Blazer.

And to your point, emotionally invested fans (or people in general) can hardly see things objectively. Their inability to be objective doesn't make the action by player X = wrong. What you are expecting from players is unrealistic in the context of real life. So the series is over, and say a close friend of his asked him to come out for a few to catch up. Should he accept the invite? or is he supposed to turn down his buddy to appease fans like you with unrealistic expectations, and will always find something to complain about anyway?

Like I said.... I could care less, but these athletes are either dumb to the fact, or just don't care that SOME FANS will in fact flip a sh#$ over it.

Look... I myself enjoy the occasional adult beverage so I can't cast stones, but IMO I myself personally would have been like, "hey guys... maybe its a good idea to go to Eastburn tonight instead, and just see these guys some other time... especially when I know everyone in the world that's there is going to be taking my photo, and tweeting how I'm celebrating with the enemy.

Again that's me. As much as I like booze, I do like money and I like people I work for having a general positive image about me and representing them well in the public eye.... but to each his own. If you just enjoy pissing people off that you work for, and that root for you, go for it.

I do hear the DJ's they have there are pretty good, and the drinks aren't overpriced at all..... totally worth it.... (JK)

I mean it's not what you want to see, but I'm sure he's thinking he's gone this offseason anyway. Meh.

Because NBA players let fan perception dictate their lives. No GM or Head coach in the league would give a *****, it's not like it's going to hurt their job security. Literally the only people who care about this are emotionally invested fans, hurt by a huge loss, and taking it out on a player who many view as singlehandedly screwing their playoff hopes.

well its just a difference of opinion, what irks me is when players don't perform well on the court, when harden looks disinterested or Lin goes spastic mode. I don't think its that they 'enjoy' pissing off fans/etc, I just think they don't care/think it through.

as snoopy pointed out, the title of the thread could easily be "Lin flies back 48 hours after series to party with Blazers." and people would still be just as pissed off.

    Come on clutchfans, salty much?

It was after the game, an Adidas event, plus apparently the whole team was there.

He's probably going there next year. That will definitely be a good fit for him.

When Dwight was asked what he said to Lillard at the post game press conference, he said he told Lillard to "go win the chip". The players respect eachother as competitors and the guts displayed by each, during the hard fought series.

Unfortunately for us, the ball bounced the other way a few times and we lost the series. It's unrealistic to expect players to hate eachother as the enemy. It's a sport. And sportsmanship should be expected, not hard feelings. MMA fighters give eachother respect after a hard fought battle and often hug after its over. Just try seeing it from the perspective of the players and temper your expectations.

it is hard broken to lose that game with only 0.9secs left but at the end, it is all about sportsmanship. i guess the best team win although i thought we are the better team. so who cares?

I watch sports just like this. Fan hard, go nuts when they win, move on when they lose. This is all supposed to be fun, so I watch it just so. I'm a huge Houston sports fan, so when they lose big games, I move the f on. Its over. I smile when I watch because I love this ****. Lin, do you, fam.

It doesn't mean anything. All NBA players are friends with each other. Dwight is very close with Lillard and Aldridge...so what.

Partying with them does make it seem like the loss didn't hurt Lin like it should have though. That's a shame.
