Exactly--Asik is probably one of the worst backup centers in the league, pretty much useless; and Lin is in very indeed the worst backup point guard in the league. I say if we had any other backup PG (John Lucas Jr. , Isaiah Canaan, Augustin, Mo Williams, that del Colo guy or whatever is name is)--we win this series.

I think all of Portland would start a lynch mob if this trade happened

I agree that our stars are not "super" enough to carry the team.

Harden is what he is. I doubt that he will ever be more than below average defender. And if doesn't get the calls, he is not consistently efficient.

If Howard doesn't embrace the PnR more, we still can't count on him to be a reliable 1st or 2nd scorer.

So you either have your superstars or if your stars aren't super enough, you need some super role players. Parsons can grow into that. But we need more. Maybe Jones and/or DMo will.

    Here is a crazy idea:

Harden + Howard for Lillard + Aldridge
    Lin for a 3&D SG

    Asik/Motiejunas
    Aldridge/Jones
    Parsons/Casspi
    3&D/Daniels
    Lillard/Beverley

Totally missing what he was saying.

Asik is the BEST backup center in the league and as far as backup point guards go you can do A LOT worse than Lin. That's all well and good when your other starting positions are locked in with solid players, but that's not our situation.

Our team would probably benefit more if we allocated the cap space Lin and Asik are taking up into positions and players that will fit better. I'd say this goes for Lin more than Asik, but I don't think there is a real way to successfully re work the roster without moving both. Trouble with that is their balloon payments on the last year, which may force us to stand pat with those two till they expire.

A troll Raptor fan would say that Patrick Patterson and Chuck Hayes and Steve Novak are also everything.

Harden's offense may be only a six game thing, but:

    1. His defense was a 2-year-long problem, with only occasional uptick. We thought he would at least start trying for the playoffs but he did not.

    2. His offense was way too easily neutralized by a mediocre defensive team given time to prepare for him. It is one thing to struggle vs. Tony Allen, Marc Gasol and Memphis, quite another to do so vs. Wes Matthews, Robin Lopez and Portland.

Not saying that Harden must go, but Morey should at least explore his options.

Another name: Kevin Love (plus maybe some assets) from Minnesota for Harden.

Its OK, Carl. I am a Raptors fan now too. If only Scola and AB were also on the Raptors, then my life would be complete.

Is this satire? If not then it is probably one the dumbest threads that has been posted since the lost. This is almost as ridiculous as the "Mr. Unreliable" title given to Durant. Just because Harden played terrible the first 4 games doesn't mean he can't be a championship player. He stepped up in Game 6 and if Parsons put back would have been the game winner this thread wouldn't have been made.

Patterson is shooting 36% from 3 this year. If only he could rebound at a higher rate.

I don't think so. Carl Herrera never posts satirical threads. He is very serious all the time.

Its not like twin towers worked vs portland. They were doubling LA and opening 3 ball shot and driving lanes as a result. If that's how you were gonna play it,should've kept jones in.

I agree about rondo though. To me, I don't like the whole team buddy-buddy. Its something to be said to have a ornery guy maxwell, elie, and dennis johnson.. rondo also solves the situational basketball issue they struggle with.

    I hate this thread.

    Harden is great. The end.

We lost 4 close games to a team with an identical record while a starting PG who had a torn meniscus and who played with the flu for 3 game, a weak bench. And a team that is in a great position too add a third star and inprove the defense this offseason.

Chemistry is not something that commonly gels in one season. Portland learned the exact same thing last year.

This team learned its flaws and they can be improved upon. Dwight Howard definitely made this a better team than the team that lost last year to OKC. I could make a case for Lillard being even better than Westbrook. Rockets were 0-3 last year with Westbrook and KD and 2-4 this year (5-5 overall) against Lillard and Aldridge.
